Request QuoteAdri’s work has been exhibited in a variety of solo and group shows at institutions including: Thomas Kettle Gallery (London), National Portrait Gallery (London), the Association of Photographers Gallery (London) and Naarden Fotofestival, Netherlands. In the Neilsson Hays Library and the Dutch Embassy, both in Bangkok, the Howard Greenberg Gallery in New York and in other shows. Prints of his work are being held in the collection of the Arts Council in the UK. He directed and produced a 50 min documentary about Heritage in Luang Prabang, a Unesco World Heritage site. The film was supported by a grant from the US Embassy in Vientiane, Laos, and was shown during the Luang Prabang Film Festival. He also lensed a documentary about the dire situation of Elephants in Laos, once known as the Land of a Million Elephants. Lao Friends Hospital for Children is the only provider of free, high-quality healthcare for the children of northern Laos in Luang Prabang province. And no child is ever turned away. 30,000 children seen annually… In Laos, it is common for children to die from preventable conditions, such as malaria, pneumonia, and diarrhea. Nearly 150,000 children in need have received free medical treatment by LFHC since opening its doors in 2015, averaging 30,000 children annually.
The brief was to create a Social Behaviour Change Communication campaign with the village community central to the ideas. Behaviour matters and this is the core message in particular to nutrition and hygiene within the ideas for the campaign. One of the keys to success was to create a campaign that was told through the stories of people from the target groups and from within the communities, aimed at 1000 day households.
Can anyone really say as to what a great portrait is? We’re always dealing with an emotional reaction, even when we try to be objective and look purely the technical quality, in my eyes there is no formula, there is no quick fix. We may develop styles and work on portfolios but each successful portrait will carry the mysterious energy between subject and the artist. The Spiritual Path This short 'moving portrait' follows the Abbot of Xieng Thong Temple in Luang Prabang, a World Heritage town in the north of Laos. Although it is part of a longer video, a series of vignettes of local people that we made for the Ministry of Information & Culture in Laos; the film shown here was created as a standalone piece. It received an honorable mention in the Moving Image category of the International Photography Awards, 2012.
“Mone’s Typhoid Miracle” was premiered at the 17th Annual New York Gala held by Friends Without A Border. Mone suffered from a severe Typhoid fever which had a serious impact on her brain. When first admitted to LFHC, her chance of survival were slim. This video shows the collaborative and hard work of the hospital that had helped Mone develop from having uncontrolled movements to being able to go back to school independently.
