Request QuoteMy partner and I founded a video production company called Wakeful State (wakefulstate.com) in 2017. We own all of our camera equipment including audio gear, stabilizers, lighting, etc. I have experience in scriptwriting, storyboarding, shooting, directing, and editing. Shayla Marie Ma-e, 28, and Matthew Piianaia-Ishii, 33, live in Hilo, Hawaii, and earn a combined $83,000 a year from their jobs as a child-care worker and a concrete foreman. Together they have 3-year-old twins, Sienna and Sierra. According to Ma-e, living in Hawaii "isn't all sunsets and coconuts," as the family has dreams of moving out of state. This is an installment of CNBC Make It's Millennial Money series, which profiles people across the globe and details how they earn, spend and save their money.
20 years in 20 minutes. I filmed and edited this 20-year anniversary video for the Kokua Hawaiʻi Foundation in 2023. KHF is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 2003 by Kim and Jack Johnson. It has been dedicated to fostering environmental education in the schools and communities of Hawaiʻi for two decades.
We worked with Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii to document and communicate the story of the first ever “in vessel” composting system in Hawaii. This device accelerates the breakdown of food scraps and compostable material. We are excited to share this story with the world. Over the course of several weeks, we filmed the SCH and Full Circle Farm team preparing for the arrival of the device, setting up the device, and unveiling it to key stakeholders. Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii achieved this historic feat with the help of Full Circle Farm, 11th Hour Racing, Frost Family Foundation, and Revolusun. This is the story of a new waste management service designed to move businesses away from typical disposal methods (landfill and incineration) by separating compost and recyclables from the waste stream. Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii’s vision of inspired people, clean beaches, and healthy coastlines hinge on a core belief that programs like these will alter the way our communities engage with their resources and consumer choices.
