During his fellowship, Muzhary's research agenda will focus on Afghanistan and other countries in the region. He most recently worked as a researcher for the Afghanistan Analysts Network, reporting on politics, militancy, economy and society, with particular focus on the intersection of conflict and the local economy. Muzhary also brings experience as a reporter for the Kabul bureau of the New York Times and other international media, as well as Pajhwok Afghan News. His work on behalf of the legal profession includes investigations of torture cases. Muzhary received his bachelor’s degree in political science and public administration from the American University of Afghanistan. He is fluent in English, Dari, Pashto and Urdu.
