An activist and waterman John Flood has used repurposed buckets to grow oysters until they are large enough to survive on the reef for years. His gruff but passionate personality has helped him push for protected oyster reefs where harvesting is prohibited in order to clean the water of tidal rivers of the Chesapeake Bay with their simple filter feeding function.

Her mom Brittany wants to raise awareness of the disease as well as allow families in similar situations as many options as possible, including medical marijuana.
