The Rebuild Facility
How do we build climate finance solutions that serve those closest to the impacts of climate change?
In our latest video, we highlight Adom Cocoa, one of Regeneration’s Rebuild Facility returnable grant recipients. Adom Cocoa is a licensed buying company collectively owned by Ghanaian cocoa farmer groups. Adom aims to protect the environment, all the while putting power back into the hands of farmers – the backbone of the global cocoa sector - through its profit-sharing model.
Through Rebuild's returnable grant, Adom was able to provide income security for 1,948 farmers cultivating Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance- certified cocoa in Goaso, Ghana.
Additionally, through the grant implementation, Adom set up a Sustainable Land Management strategy and intensified climate-smart practices on all member farms, helping farmers to increase productivity and their incomes. Adom Cocoa also officially joined the Ghana Cocoa Forest GH REDD program and is actively restoring formerly degraded forest within the Bia-Juaboso landscape. So far, over 200 hectares of formerly degraded forest have been restored.
