Ende Gelände Summer '21: Clean Gas? Dirty Lie!
In the summer of 2021, Ende Gelände, which has been bringing people together for civil disobedience in defense of the environment since 2015, decided to blockade part of the LNG (gas) infrastructure in northern Germany, in Brunsbüttel, about 90 km from Hamburg.
For the first time, they invited those who suffer from the neocolonalism of the Global North. Both people from the global south, in Argentina (Vaca Muerta), and people from the global north, in Texas, who are treated without any respect, just like the indigenous communities.
Ende Gelände organizes every time in so-called fingers. I followed the red and yellow fingers in Brunsbüttel, but also spent some time in Hamburg itself, where the "Anti-Colonial Attack" organized black and migrant people to network for the upcoming events and explain to them how difficult it is for them to be part of such movements, given the various repressions from the authorities.
Follow the action, the game of hide and seek with the police, and hear interviews with activists from around the world, including the well-known Carola Rackete (known as the captain of Sea-Watch), who explain the connection between refugees, social crises, colonialism in its modern form, and the destruction of our livelihoods
