About
Sound recordist and designer, documentary film director and producer, videographer, editor.
I started my career after coursing my first studies on sound back in 2003, as a live sound engineer, touring with bands and working on music venues.
As a music studio engineer, I’ve been involved in an eclectic range of styles, like African blues, punk rock or experimental music, producing albums for Alkibar Junior (Mali 2007), La URSS (Spain 2006) or Orchestra Elastique’s “A Fallible Girl OST” (London 2012) among many others.
In year 2008 I moved to Equatorial Guinea, where I had my first experience as a sound lecturer and studio manager at the CCEB (Spanish Cultural Centre in Bata)
In 2011 I put together hours of footage and audio recordings from my years of music production in Western Africa, resulting in my first documentary film “Le Message du Issa ber” (East End Festival 2011) featuring Khaira Arby, Male Toure and Tinariwen, among others.
In 2012, after coursing my sound engineering diploma at SAE Institute London, I moved to Ethiopia, where I worked with artists like Mulatu Astatke or Samuel Yirga. Parallelly, I directed and produced a documentary films series on Ethiopian music: Roaring Abyss (Womex15) and New Voices in an Old Flower (IFFR 2016).
Since, I have focused my career on film as a director, editor or sound mixer & designer, getting involved at multiple fiction and documentary films, news and web content videos.
Among other residences, I was selected to be part of Berlinale Talents 2019, participating in multiple lectures and master classes on sound design and filmmaking.
Since 2019, I lecture film sound at ECPV (Escuela de Cine del País Vasco/Basque Country Film School), while developing new own projects and doing freelance jobs.
