I'm a freelance visual journalist based in Shanghai, China and New York City, US. I'm fluent in Mandarin, and am interested in pursuing stories with humanitarian and human interest undertones. I like follow-up pieces that go more in-depth than the headlines. I was trained as a traditional newspaper journalist, but soon was asked to help build the newspapers video department. After one year, our newspaper received awards for both photographic and video coverage of breaking news, investigative journalism and profile pieces.
