Jim Choi is an award-winning director, cinematographer, and sound recordist. As a graduate of the Painting Dept. at the Rhode Island School of Design, Choi has always brought a fine artist’s perspective to storytelling in his documentary films. Having formerly worked in the Public Television Department of the Center for Asian American Media, he has dedicated his career to the documentation of the Asian American experience and its representation to the broader public. Choi directed and filmed Changing Season on the Masumoto Family Farm, which aired on PBS in 2016. Changing Season witnesses the multi-generational Masumoto peach farm owner David “Mas” Masumoto and his successional relation with his daughter Nikiko.
