Brooklyn born to Boricua parents, Mikey fuels his artistic drive by chronicling the narratives of struggle and triumph through a variety of formats and platforms as a transmedia storyteller and creative agitator. His documentary photography has been featured in numerous publications and was sought out and featured by Spike Lee for his recent Netflix series She’s Gotta Have it Too. Mikey produced the web series East WillyB - a satirical take on a Brooklyn community engulfed with gentrification and cultural ramifications. His recent directorial work "For Those to Come" garnered critical acclaim, the film was awarded Best Documentary Feature at the Puerto Rico Film Festival in 2022. The feature documentary “We Still Here” produced and edited by Mikey garnered multiple awards like Best Doc at the International Puerto Rican Heritage Film Festival and the Audience award at the Urbanworld Film Festival. Presently he lives, creates and documents from San Juan, Puerto Rico.
