About

Shiyu is a female independent filmmaker who originally from Yunnan, China. She is in her second year of MFA at American University right now. She graduated from Assumption University of Thailand in 2012, majored in finance and marketing. During the school time, Shiyu works as graduate assistant for professors on campus, she also works part-time at Academic Multimedia Service department in American University. Since summer of 2014, Shiyu started work as an intern at Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Culture Heritage. She mainly in charge of producing and editing pieces about Chinese traditional culture. Shiyu is a funny,easygoing and passionate girl. She loves what she does and enjoys her life a lot. Except filmmaking, Shiyu also likes cooking, study recipes, DIY accessories, traveling, singing and dancing.
