I’m Janice Y. Perez, a freelance Screenwriter, Director, and Line Producer based in Cebu City, Philippines, and the Chief Creative behind Project Kaleidoscope, d.b.a. JYPerez Film Production. My fortes are historical fiction, political thriller, and action and adventure stories. Beyond narrative fiction, I’ve also dabbled on numerous corporate videos, animation, short documentaries, and music videos for various clients, like the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP), Nestlé Philippines, and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ or German Development Agency), to name a few. In 2019, I received the Best Produced Screenplay for the Philippine historical fiction sleeper hit, "Quezon's Game," wherein I worked as the Screenwriter and Main Researcher. I've directed 2 full-length features in the Philippines: "The Muses" and "Magbuwag Ta Kay" (Let's Break Up, Kay). Breathing stories to life, be it fiction or non-fiction is what truly drives me.
