India: a Buddhist monastery on the slopes of the Himalayas
At almost 3,000 meters above sea level, the white and gold colored buildings stand out among the trees and rocky passages. Located in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh, in the northeast of the country, the Buddhist monastery of Tawang is the second largest Buddhist monastery in the world, behind that of Lhasa, in Tibet.
