Rosa Amanda Tuirán is an Emmy award-winning filmmaker, photographer and journalist based in San Francisco, California. Originally from Mexico City, Rosa Amanda studied International Relations for her B.A. After graduating, she pursued her passion for underwater photography in South Africa and later worked as a video journalist for BuzzFeed News in New York City. In 2020, she received her Master of Journalism from the University of California, Berkeley with a focus on documentary filmmaking. During the pandemic's early stages, she was a part of the COVID-19 California reporting initiative with The New York Times and the Investigative Reporting Program. Her work has been featured on PBS Frontline, PBS NOVA, Vice News, National Geographic, The Guardian, The New York Times, OceanX and PBS Digital Studios. Rosa Amanda is also a dive master and training to become a professional underwater cinematographer.
