Quran desecration in the Netherlands
In this news broadcast interview, I analyzed the Quran burnings that took place in the Netherlands. I argued that Quran burnings may be a new phenomenon, but the anti-Muslim racism undergirding them is not. I argue that while state support for anti-racist struggle is important, the struggle against anti-Muslim racism must be rooted in the people and in grassroots movements. As such, I argue against the expansion of hate crime law as a means of dismantling anti-Muslim racism.
