Request a demoOver twenty years, I’ve produced, shot, edited, and juggled all production roles while hosting a Travel Channel series. I’ve worked across all genres of non-fiction for CNN, National Geographic, Discovery, History Ch, NBC, ABC, MTV, OWN, UK Channel 4, CNA, and others. I’ve advanced global nonprofit missions, led impact films for the UN, Smithsonian, and U.S. State Dept on HIV/AIDS, biodiversity, and climate, and strategized political campaigns. I was a Peace Corps volunteer, often sent last-minute into remote regions or embedded in subcultures. Roughing it on long treks with gear on my back to capture the story has been the norm for the majority of my work. That’s when I'm truly in my element. I edit on Premiere, shoot with a Sony FX6 & A7, and fly a Mavic Pro. I’m multilingual. My award-winning doc credits include Tibet in Song (Sundance), A Face for Yulce, and Counting on Democracy. In 2025, I directed "Wild Horses at the Door," winner of Jury and Audience Awards for Best Short Doc.
In 2010 I was asked to document a bike tour in Tanzania for The Foundation For Tomorrow. A group of cyclists were riding from Kilimanjaro to the coast for a cause - to raise funds for the education of orphans and vulnerable children. One orphan named Richard joined the group after winning a contest for the privilege of participation. Unfortunately funding dried up and we only made a rough cut.
ORT (Association for the Promotion of Skilled Trades) was founded in 1880 in Saint Petersburg, Russia to provide vocational training for impoverished Jews and has since expanded worldwide. ORT supporters visit Saint Petersburg and Moscow to witness the thriving ORT schools providing advanced STEM education and tolerance, while serving Jewish and non Jewish communities in the former Soviet Union.
In 2006, Travel Channel hired me to host the national television show “Not Your Average Travel Guide.” For a year I led audiences on trips around the world, while juggling producing, writing, shooting, and editing. Rocky Mountain Sustainability and Science Network develops a diverse mix of future leaders who are prepared to address sustainability, uncertainty and change on a global scale. I have been teaching digital storytelling to the students in hopes of encouraging better science communication through story. This piece was made to help raise awareness and funds for RMSSN.
Earthwatch offered me a communication fellowship to document one of their worldwide marine-based expeditions. I spent 10 days in Costa Rica filming the experience of Earthwatch volunteers working alongside biologists to safeguard sea turtles. I then edited the footage for promotion & education: to encourage more citizen science and to better understand the plight of leatherback sea turtles.
Video was created for the National Science Foundation Diversity in STEM Video Challenge. The Rocky Mountain Sustainability and Science Network (RMSSN) brings underrepresented minority college students to national parks for ecological field experiences and research. A diverse new generation of globally minded leaders emerge prepared to address issues of environmental sustainability and preservation of cultural and natural resources.
