After studying documentary, journalistic and artistic photography at the Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie und Gestaltung in Berlin and her graduation work "VAHINI" in 2016, for which she lived for several months with an indigenous community in the Amazon and accompanied her photographically, she continues this work with a focus on indigenous, social and human rights issues since then, mainly in Brazil.
The indigenous communities of the Guarani and Kaiowá are living in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. In the 19th century began their forced eviction in favor of agricultural development in their territories. Today, their children die of malnutrition and they suffer regular attacks of the surrounding landowners, which often kill members of the Guarani-Kaiowá.
The indigenous people of the Deni are living isolated in the amazonian rainforest of Brazil. They are a very good example of how good the protection of the rainforest against deforestation works where the Brazilian government demarcated the indigenous lands. For the most of the other original tribes this sadly seems like an endless fight. I lived with them for several months.
Ribeirinhos are called the river dwellers who settle in small communities on tributaries in the Amazon. They usually consist of no more than a few houses, their inhabitants are called Caboclos or just Ribeirinhos. These small communities are usually far away from cities and can often only be reached via the rivers.
