Sitting Still

Sitting still by the ocean and feeling the sound, listening with enthusiasm, with interest, with curiosity. This contemplative journey follows the devout Theravada Buddhist monk and nun, with unprecedented access, in Rockaway Beach, New York. The film captures the daily routines and rituals of them on a quest to reach fully enlightened, explores what it means to devote one’s life to mindfulness. It is an insightful rumination on our pursuit of happiness, attachment to material things, which fundamentally the reason why we experiencing displeasure and discontent. Also, a retreat to re-locate the stillness in the unrest city life.
