Ennore: Living in Ashes | Documentary
"Imagine what it feels like to have your eye operated and have ash-dust fall on it every day. We’re struggling every day and just can’t live here anymore," says Pattu who has been living in Seppakkam, near Ennore. She is nearly 90 years old.
This documentary covers some of Ennore's marginalised societies who have been affected by NCTPS - a thermal power plant owned by the Tamil Nadu government. It has been dumping ash here for nearly 25 years and those affected have no means for survival. This has polluted the groundwater in the region, increased air pollution levels and ruined Ennore's important Kosasthalaiyar river.
