I am a photojournalism student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Most of what I produce is multimedia pieces within the realm of documentary work or music. I have done documentary work in India (2012), Brazil (2012) and the Dominican Republic (2013). I was the video editor for the 2014 depth report project, Native Daughters. Deepashri Varadharajan is an engineer-turned-journalist from Hyderabad, India. She worked in print and online media in India, covering science, healthcare, child abuse and sex trafficking. Varadharajan specialized in documentary filmmaking at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, where she independently filmed, edited and directed a short docuemntary on long-term unemployment among older workers. She is currently doing a fellowship at Al Jazeera America in New York City.
