My start in the audio-visual/media industry began with completion of Sound Engineering studies at the SAE in Amsterdam, while still working as an accountant for a large international corporation. After completion of my studies I began working as a freelance sound technician and eventually was able to take on lighting technician projects. Then my interest in moving images took me to The International Film School, San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba were studied Digital postproduction for film, after which I began to take on more camera operator and video editing work. My video editing work eventually led to me working as video editor on a permanent basis for an international media agency. From my initial position as editor I moved up to chief editor, responsible for mentoring and overseeing work of editing departments in Amsterdam, Kenya and Ghana, and eventually attaining the position of Executive Producer.

Stuart Acker Holt is a British born director, editor and photographer and the founder of CRUMB.FILM based in Amsterdam. After studying Music at University of Newcastle upon Tyne, Stuart went on to lecture in Film Music at Chichester University. During this time he created the ‘Expressing Computers’ lecture series with film-makers and composers presenting live audio-visual work. This opened the doors to inspiring partnerships and creative collaborations in photography and film. In 2008 Stuart released Most Interesting Person; a ‘self generative’ story where each subject nominated the next in an ongoing trail of connected interviews. The project took him around the world creating over 200 episodes of the world’s ‘most interesting’ people. This premiered at The Balhaus Ost, Berlin attracting 1,000 visitors over 24 hours. This format was later adapted for commercial commissions by Philips, the Van Gogh Museum, Ableton and ID&T. Other story-telling formats created by Stuart include the ‘I HEART….’ series. I HEART USA documented the 2016 US presidential election, which was screened at the Bicycle Film Festival in NYC and The House of St. Barnabas in Soho, London. The story of Stuart’s father’s escape from NAZI occupied Vienna in I HEART EUROPE. As a second generation survivor, Stuart’s interest in history features regularly and motivated him to write his first book, ‘The Short 6ft Tall Man’. In 2020 he will be releasing his new film For The Record, which has been selected for the Crystal Palace International Film Festival in London, as well as festivals in Berlin and The Hague.

I love telling stories. At its simplest I am a filmmaker. I direct films. I produce films. I edit films. I’ve worked in independent production, direct with brand and closely with marketing agencies. With a nice 12 year stint in broadcast for some of the biggest names in the industry (BBC, ESPN, Al Jazeera). I'm a young motivated journalist with a rich knowledge in Middle East foreign affairs. Passionate storyteller with a talent for delivering attention-grabbing, high-quality news reports and human stories. I want to tell more stories from the inside of Arab communities in the Middle East. My background and language skills open a lot of doors which stay closed for a lot of western journalists. I am fluent in Arabic, Dutch and English. I'm currently working for one of the leading Dutch quality papers called ‘de Volkskrant’. My job is to tell our Dutch readers/viewers about the current situation and the ongoing troubles in the Middle East, framed in a way that it fits the Dutch view. My stories have mainly been exclusive stories about the Syrian conflict, the refugee crisis, the marginalised and minority communities in the Middle East. One of my stories got nominated for 'de Tegel', the most important award for journalism in the Netherlands. This story on human trafficking networks in the Turkish city of Izmir was very important for me to work on. It showed the way traffickers work and gave us insight into the dark-side of these shady networks. I've also published an award-winning story on Syrian refugee child workers in Dutch daily quality newspaper 'de Volkskrant'. The footages I shot and produced were broadcasted by the BBC ten o’clock news. With experience in investigative (video) journalism, my online-media savviness and my passion of telling the stories of the marginalised voices, I am confident I will be an asset to your team and channel.

I was born in Athens, Greece, and after school I studied computer science and camera operating. From 2008 I have been working as a freelance videographer in Europe and across the Atlantic, as ENG/SNG crew member, but also on documentaries and theatrical/cultural/fashion events. I had the chance to focus on global issues such as the climate change but also to embrace and promote minorities rights. She is currently working on a documentary about negative work behavior. She is also developing an audiovisual platform for children who are dealing with loss. Tamara Shogaolu has worked in film and media in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the United States. She was a Fulbright Scholar in Egypt, where she conducted socioeconomic research and co-organized the first Cairo Refugee Film Festival. Her latest animated short, HALF A LIFE, was selected to screen at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)’s Doc Fortnight and the Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Tamara’s work has been featured at festivals in the United States, Europe, and Asia. She was also a Academy Nicholls Fellowship Semifinalist, in addition to placing in other top screenwriting competitions. Tamara holds an M.F.A. from the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts, where she was a Burton Lewis Endowed Scholar for Directing.
