Felipe is an Emmy award-winning producer. He is a bilingual and bicultural producer, director, filmmaker, artist, musician & writer creating content both in English and Spanish. Felipe is also the Co-Founder, CEO and Executive Producer/Director of his own production company, IGNI Productions, and his online channel for the arts thegchannel.com. For the last 20 years, Felipe has been producing outstanding high quality storytelling at CNN. Most recently, Felipe worked as Supervising Features Producer at the CNN Vision team in Atlanta, creating special and sponsored programming. Within the unit, he led and managed a team of storytellers in Atlanta and Miami with passion, inspiring and empowering them to fulfill their own creative potential. He also worked in several countries with colleagues, anchors, correspondents and freelancers to get high quality stories on TV, digital and social media. At the same time, he managed budgets and financial forecasts for different shows. He has received several awards and lately has been a guest speaker in film & TV production conferences. Felipe Barral is a storyteller who expresses himself in many ways –through his visual works (documentaries, films, video/art installations & TV shows), his music (both as a performer and composer), his art (painting and photography) and his writing (he’s a poet and a journalist) . He is also a multicultural journalist with a Masters degree in Philosophy. As a filmmaker, Felipe explores and experiments with the audio visual language to create projects that capture the dangerous path of a creative human venture. Listening to the heartbeat of life he thinks in images, syllables and pigments. He talks in music, words and colors. He speaks the visual language that our modern culture understands. He has released 6 short films (The Book of Life, Inhabit, PIXEL, Desire, Dust House and touchME: Dida); short and long format documentaries (including Louvre Atlanta); 3 books of poetry (Múrberon, El Libro de Isamar and Aion); has composed several original scores for silent films and documentaries (including Nosferatu, Metropolis and CNN’s Filling the Blank among others); has done several multimedia installations (including Fire Woman among others); and has performed live both in Chile and the United States. Felipe has taught his “Creative Production Philosophy & Style” to producers, reporters and colleagues from CNNE, CNNI and HLN; and he also teaches it to children and young storytellers in an international school in Atlanta, which led him to be recognized with Time Warner’s Richard D. Parsons Community Impact Award in 2014. In 2010 Felipe produced, directed, filmed (second camera) and wrote the acclaimed Alzheimer’s documentary “Filling the Blank” for CNN International’s World Untold Stories show. He also did a version in Spanish for CNN en Español. Both premiered in 2011. In 2011 Felipe also produced, directed and wrote the special documentary film “Crescendo – la música es vida” (Crescedo - why music is life), the first time CNNE blended fiction with reality in a documentary/film style. The film was released in 500 movie theatres in the US before being broadcasted on CNN. Between 2003 and 2012 Felipe produced and hosted the live weekly segment Juego de Palabras in the show Encuentro on CNN en Español. And between 2006 and 2012 Felipe produced, directed, hosted, filmed and edited almost 300 Juego de Palabras short stories and 4 special shows focused on arts, culture and entertainment. In a special collaboration between thegchannel.com and artsatl.com, Felipe has continue to tell stories related to entertainment in Atlanta. After earning degrees in Media Communications and Spanish at North Carolina State University in 2004, I began my career in video production working as an editor and camera operator on a cooking show in Raleigh, NC.In 2005, I moved to Charleston, SC where I began working as an editor and producer for Litton Entertainment (now known as Hearst Media). Over the course of several years, I worked on a variety of nationally televised docu-reality TV series, including Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan: Family Edition, Calling Dr. Pol, The Brady Barr Experience, The Great Doctor Scott, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Hidden Heroes, Exploration with Richard Weise, Animal Exploration with Jarod Miller, and Hometeam. In 2011, I founded Palmetto Coast Media and began creating videos for businesses and events all over Charleston. In 2012, we co-created, co-produced, directed, filmed and edited a docu-reality TV series called “Give Me Shelter,” featuring the Charleston-based animal shelter Pet Helpers. The series aired on Nat Geo Wild, Nat Geo Mundo, Hulu and Animal Planet in over 100 countries. In 2019, a promo video we created for Pet Helpers was voted by locals as Best Locally Produced Video in Charleston City Paper. It has been an exciting journey to work with so many incredible clients and partners over these past 12 years!

The Founder and creative visionary behind the Nova Initia concept is Andrew Smith, who serves under the job title of Creative Director. Mr. Smith’s interest in the visual arts traces all the way back to his early childhood - with his mother constantly pushing him towards his dream of gracing the silver screen. He would initially set out on a path towards being an actor, attending the renowned John Robert Powers acting school as a teenager. Mr. Smith then made the transition to behind the camera - where he would discover his true passion for filmmaking and film theory. This would culminate in him earning a B.A. in Visual & Performing Arts from Johnson C. Smith University in 2015, with a concentration in film. Mr. Smith would eventually round out his skill set by developing proficiency in post-production editing. He now possesses an impressive versatility within the filmmaking field; and, having worked in the industry since 2011, is the ideal person to lead our team. His responsibilities with Nova Initia include steering day-to-day operations, editing, financial management, and creative leadership. In March 1993 Troy Thomas founded Inertia Films. Cients like Procter & Gamble, and daily news magazine programs including Inside Edition, American Journal, Entertainment Tonight, and Extra. Inertia Films grew in visibility after landing a two and a half year project shooting the reality-based program Real Stories of the Highway Patrol. My name is Ali McField. I started my journey as a filmmaker 10 years ago. After a long day of working construction I came home and my wife asked me, "What are you passionate about? What do you dream about?" A few weeks later I was enrolled in college taking evening and lunch break classes. My journey took me across the country. I worked full time and took full time classes and I couldn't have done it without the support of my wife and 5 children. I have created in a variety of films settings and have experience working with a variety equipment from low end to highest end. I have created videos in the new setting and on the go minute by minute with quick turn around editing. I have created short films and documentaries. Experiencing and working in every roll in the filmmaking process gives me understanding and perspective in each step of the filming process. I own a Canon C300 Mark II and collaboration equipment for filmmaking. I own various editing programs.

I'm a photojournalist at a tv news station in Charleston, SC. I've been preparing to go on my own for the last year and now that time is drawing near. I prefer feature stories about individuals that are stories of hope, endurance, strength of character or inspiration. I love stories about people who go at it alone, or maybe they've stepped away from the noise to find peace in a strange or different kind of hobby or a profession. To find these types of stories, it requires me to engage people all types of people. When I load my gear back into my truck and drive back to edit, sometimes I can't drive fast enough, dreamimg of weaving together a story that people will love and be touched by. At the moment, the files that I have attached were done with a reporter that I work with; soon only my solo work will be posted.

Hi! I'm an Atlanta-based filmmaker specializing in editing and sound design. I originate from Western NC where I graduated from WCU with a BFA in Film and Television Production in the Spring of 2022. My school connections led me to Local Cinema Studios, where I got my start as a DIT and Assistant Editor, which later turned into an opportunity to Sound Design. Now, I've done both in some facet for films, small businesses, and all sorts of other media. Last year, I got an opportunity to edit and sound design the feature film, Hero, funded by USC and The South Carolina Film Commission, which is currently on its festival run.
