1 reviewI started my career in photojournalism in 2010 because I couldn't resist the challenge, the travel, and the urge to tell the world stories from my home, Indonesia.
My background is in humanitarian aid, working in remote parts of Indonesia after the devastating 2004 tsunami. As a freelance photographer, I cover major breaking news events for international wire services like Australian Associated Press (AAP).
As a freelance videographer, I cover major documentary stories for international TV outlets like Swiss TV.
When I go to both natural and man-made disasters, I draw on skills from my NGO life - quick thinking, sensitivity and understanding of difficult environments. I also have training in working as media in hostile environments.
In 2013, I won Reuters Photo of The Year for my image of an ash cloud billowing from Sumatra's Mount Sinabung volcano. The award was not the peak of my career, but the beginning: of new adventures, stories and collaborations in this fascinating corner of the globe.
Indonesia has thousands of stories to tell, including some urgent environmental and social challenges that deserve the world's attention.
I have a record as being a reliable and experienced operator, working ethically and with open communication with clients to get excellent results.
