Kaleb Wentzel-Fisher is a Berlin-based filmmaker from the U.S. He finished his first feature film, Sankofa, which was produced by Molly Aida Film and was premiered at the Zagreb Fantastic Film Festival in Croatia in 2014. Kaleb has made films and music since his early teens. He studied audio engineering and production at the McNally Smith School of Music while teaching himself video production. He has spent the last decade working on motion pictures for the film industry, teaching seminars and workshops, and creating his own films and music. After developing curricula and teaching film and audio production at the Media Arts Collaborative Charter School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he moved to Berlin to write and direct independent feature films. He is currently developing his newest project, a documentary film entitled Concrete Empire (www.concrete-empire.com), in collaboration with Molly Aida Film. I've worked as a freelancer for the french-german TV channel ARTE, CBS and the BBC. Recently I've completed my first independent documentary. POWER is a short doc on violence against women in India, it has won awards at international film festivals. Before working as a freelancer I trained at City University for broadcast journalism. I've published stories in FocusOnline, Naked Punch Magazine, Deutsche Welle and I was an online editor for the Magazine Digital-Life-Design. Most of all I love working independently, being on a shoot and producing stories. Having worked in India and Pakistan several times between 2010 and 2014, I'm aware of what it takes to research and produce stories in adverse places. My love for traveling brought me to journalism and I still see it as part of the attraction.
