i am a writer and a drifter dedicating myself to topics on the margins of society. fuelled by my desire to be everywhere at once, i studied geography and cultural anthropology and lived in coro (venezuela), gießen (germany), heidelberg (germany) and adelaide (australia). i settled down in leipzig (germany) in 2007 and studied journalism. the following year i was awarded the “research-prize” by the journalistic magazine “message”. in 2010 i lived in adelaide where i volunteered at radio adelaide. just after christmas i started heading back towards europe but decided that winter doesn’t agree with me. as avoidance strategy i explored the islands in the south pacific with my son. i blogged about it and i turned the stories into a book (“mama, sind wir bald da?”). since october 2011 i am back in leipzig. i write for süddeutsche zeitung, frankfurter allgemeine zeitung, zeit, lufthansa magazin, and plenty of others, mostly about travel, society, women and zeitgeist issues.

I graduated with a journalism degree from the University of Havana. I am open-minded, curious and intensely passionate about the process of journalism, broadcasting and investigating newsworthy events by interview, investigation or observation. I have significant experience of front-line reporting and journalism in the Cuban and German media world. In Cuba I completed internships, most notably at Prensa Latina News Agency, Cuban Institute of Radio and Television and Grannma. Over the last year I have broadcast at Hamburg’s Community Radio Station and TV Chanel TIDE on a local and national level about political issues, such as the situation of Lampedusa refugees in Hamburg. I have also helped bring other globally issues to the Radio: f.e. a show with Jürgen Grässlin, author of "The Black Book about arms trade", and Hamed Abdel-Samad, author of the book "Islamic fascism". I moderate the radio program "TIDE akuell" in German and supplied contributions in almost all journalistic forms.

Laurence is a freelance multimedia journalist, producer and engagement consultant based in Berlin. He has worked on a wide variety of stories and media projects including; managing a team of over 30 journalists covering the Nigerian national elections; the creation of “Dementia Diaries” – a national series of audio diaries documenting the day-to-day lives of people living with dementia; and award-winning coverage of the Ebola crisis in Sierra Leone. Nina Hölzl is a documentary filmmaker, activist and emerging writer based in Berlin, Germany. Her work focusses on environmental protection, animal rights, social justice, feminism and spirituality. Born and raised in Austria, I moved to Berlin after a little while of working as camera assistant in the commercial world of vienna. In Berlin I started studying cinematography at the DFFB (Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin) and working in the film industry of Germany. Given my broad spectrum of interest in motion picture and passion for creating images and telling compelling stories, it's been possible for me to work in many genres, may it be narrative, documentary or commercial. Ricardo Bacallao grew up in Havana, Cuba. He graduated from the prestigious Instituto Superior de Arte in Cuba as Director in Film, Radio and Tv. In NYC he obtained a Masters in Fine Arts(MFA) from NYU’s Film program. He is the first Berlinale Talents Campus from Cuba 2003 and 2004. He is living in NYC as Freelance Filmmaker for tv stations and private companies. In 2010 He obtained an Emmy from NY. And in 2014 became the Cuban American of the year for Union City, NJ. Jill is the founder of Berlin's first English-language podcasting label, Bear Radio. Jill has worked for a range of radio stations and media companies around the world, including as a production assistant at Deutsche Welle and NPR (National Public Radio) in Washington, D.C. She is currently a “Future of Audio Entertainment” Fellow with the Do School in partnership with Axel Springer and six German radio stations. Matthias Schatz works as a multimedia journalist in Hamburg, Germany. After finishing his studies at the universities of Münster/Westfalen and Hamburg with a PhD thesis on the French artist Odilon Redon he worked for the Axel Springer Verlag and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Later he became a spokesperson and director of publications at Beiersdorf AG for ten years.
