My name is Josef Geiger and I am a Filmmaker and Photographer based out of Hamburg, Germany. I grew up in a family full of artists and was exposed at an early age to visual arts. This exposure led to a fascination with filmmaking and photography, which landed me in college studying and making 16mm films. At the same time, I was serving in the US Air Force National Guard as a cameraman and editor. I moved to Los Angeles where I continued working and learning in the Hollywood film industry. ​In 2010 I directed, shot and edited the official music video “Pumped Up Kicks” for Foster the People, which was nominated by MTV for Best Rock Music Video. In 2014 love brought me to Hamburg, where I work full time fulfilling my passion as a cameraman, editor and photographer. Here I work as a freelance filmmaker helping local and international businesses, bands and creatives develop stories and visuals that boost their image, help sell their products and move people emotionally.

I am a documentaries' director and producer, with more than 10 years' experience in the documentary industry, in addition to 7 years' experience in the fields of journalism and media. Until now, I have individually directed and produced more than 15 hours of documentary films, mostly for Al-Jazeera documentary channel. I also participated in more than 20 hours of documentaries as a field producer, production manager, researcher, editor or videographer, in 30 countries around the world. This allowed me to have deep experience in all the stages of film production. I also have a great film network in Africa, Middle East, Asia, and also in Europe. I always know a guy who knows the perfect guy for the job. I filmed documentaries in Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Ghana, Kenya, Mauritania, Kuwait, Turkey, Sudan, Zanzibar, and Vietnam. In one of my movies “Standards of beauty across history”, I filmed in France, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, and Egypt, so, I think I have a great experience in the production and film directing matters. LILLAH HALLA (Marilia Halla, Brazil, 1981) studied Directing (Bachelor) and Screenwriting (Master) at the Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba (2010-2014). She participated in the ELAP (Emerging Leaders of America) research program on Narrative Forms in Narrative and Experimental Cinema at the Department of Fine Arts at the University of Concordia, Montreal, Canada (2014). Since 2016 Lillah Halla lives in Berlin, where she is hired as a filmmaker for different film productions in Germany and abroad. She was production manager as script consultant for the film ISLAND OF THE HUNGRY GHOSTS (2018, Germany / Australia), directed by Gabrielle Brady, awarded Best Documentary Language at the Festival de Tribeca and winner of the Buyens-Chagoll Prize at the Festival Visions du Réel , Lillah Halla also co-wrote the film REHEARSAL (2018, Brazil), directed by Tamar Guimarães, along with Tamar Guimarães (São Paulo / Copenhagen) and Melissa de Raaf (Berlin). The film premiered at the 68º Berlinale (2018) and the 33rd Biennale in São Paulo (2018). Lillah is the author of the screenplay for the film LIVRAMENTO, supported by the program Ibermedia 2016, which received an Award from the Tribeca Film Institute, participated in the Labs Co-Production Market of the BERLINALE 2019, and at the Curso de Desarrollo de Proyectos Cinematográ cos Iberoamericanos of the Fundación Carolina in Madrid (Course for the Development of Iberoamerican Film Projects), 2018 , BAL-BAFICI, 2018, BOLIVIALAB, 2018 (excellent), CINEMUNDI BH 2018, Lab SESC NOVAS HISTÓRIAS 2018, BrLab, 2016 (excellent). The script won in 2018 the Brazilian prize Cabíria for the best female figure. The film project, which is also directed by Lillah Halla, received funding from the FSA 2018 as Brazilian production and co-production between Brazil and Uruguay. In the meantime, Lillah also work as a camera woman and editor for smaller film productions, both commercial and artistic. Among her collaborations as a filmmaker, are film and theater works by Christoph Schlingensief, Frank Castorf, production companies and agencies in Berlin. She is currently making a shoot for Google in Zürich.

Alexander Sussmann is an award winning documentary filmmaker from Berlin, Germany. Growing up in the tranquil countryside of West-Germany, Alexander developed the urge to discover the world at an early age. With footsteps in more than 40 countries, he expanded his passion for diverse mindsets, and different social and cultural backgrounds. It was a natural step for him to evolve from the adventurer to a storyteller following the path as a documentary filmmaker. As a filmmaker, Alexander employs his creative freedom in exploring the diversity of human life. He has a humorous understanding in the details of daily life interactions. The duality between the beauty of life and the absurdity of societies are constantly revealed in his films. Furthermore, Alexander believes that cinema is an experience to provoke controversial dialogue with its viewer. In 2011, Alexander completed his bachelors degree in Audio Visual Media at Stuttgart Media University. During his studies, he gained his first professional work experience in arthouse fiction and non-fiction production houses. From 2012 to 2015 he worked in Berlin as a director for the global media company Vice. While working there, he directed and produced several reportages up to 20min length. He co-founded the production company and media agency Tribes. He worked as a commercial director for clients all across the globe providing brand documentaries and social media spots. After several years in the professional field, it was time for Alexander to move on. The desire to develop an independent and distinctive style as an artist brought him back to university. In 2020 he completed the Docnomads Joint Master Degree program in Documentary Film Directing in three countries: Portugal, Hungary, Belgium. He enjoys the challenge of living and working in foreign environment, which opens new perspectives and experiences. He is eager to broaden his new adventures to create a unique voice in the field of creative documentary.

Montreal filmmaker with 15 years of experience, based in Berlin. I speak French, English, Spanish and German. I have edited content for ARTE, France Televisions and Savoir Media. --- Pierre-Yves Beaulieu is a documentary filmmaker from Montreal, now based in Berlin. Through intimate encounters, his films question rituals, roots and social norms, highlighting the contrasts that co-exist in our dislocated society. His short films have notably been screened at Festival de Cinéma de la Ville de Québec, Festival Cinéma du Monde de Sherbrooke, Ethnografilms (Paris) and Regent Film Festival (Toronto). In 2018 and 2019, he won the Best Documentary award from Festival du Film Étudiant de Québec two years in a row, for his shorts FLOYD and LA NUIT DES KRAMPUS. FLOYD also won the Best Documentary award at Ottawa International Short Films Festival. His work has been broadcasted on tou.tv (Canadian national TV), UNIS TV (Canada), Savoir Média (Canada) and Samansa (Japan/Korea).

I am a visual artist from Chile, based in Berlin. I grew up in the colorful and artistic city of Valparaíso, where my interest in photography and film began. With a BA in Audiovisual Arts I have developed a career as a video editor, managing to work in several important TV channels in Chile, specializing in editing documentaries and TV shows about travel, art and fashion. At the same time, I have always been linked to photography, collaborating with different local artists. My interest in seeing the world led him to move to Berlin in 2019 where my career continued to expand. In my years in Berlin I have participated in projects such as "DULCE", an award winning short film at the Buenos Aires International Film Festival (Argentina), SOIFF (Spain), Dhaka Film Festival (Bangladesh), among many others. I’m Diego Delgado, an experienced multidisciplinary visual designer based in Berlin, focused on brand expression and user experiences, with restlessness for technology and music. I work with creatives and brands, creating strong visual personalities through graphic design, video content, photography, and web applications. After studying film and design in Madrid, my restlessness has led me to continue studying in a self-taught way other disciplines related to image, sound, and creativity. I have specialized in photography, motion graphics, web development, and 3d image, fascinated by both the technical and artistic side. Milan Daemgen is a filmmaker based in Berlin/New Orleans. He is a co-owner of the award-winning production company, The Greenhouse Collective. He has produced music videos for Grammy Award Winner Mavis Staples, Grammy Award Nominee Southern Avenue, Arcade Fire and Big Freedia; produced commercials for Google, Rakuten & Samsung, and directed commercials for Polaroid and the American Institute of Architects. In 2017, Milo produced and directed the ground-breaking digital ad campaign for New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell. In 2016, Milo won a Webby for best short documentary series, THE HEART OF ICWA about forced adoption practices within Native American communities. Most recently, he was an Associate Producer for Behn Zeitlin’s feature film, WENDY, distributed by Fox Searchlight. Living and working in Berlin, I am originally from Brittany, France. In 2012, I graduated with a Master's degree in American Studies and Film Studies, focusing my research on the road movie genre and the impact of technology and mediated images on our perception of reality. ​ In 2015, I joined Manifesto Film as production coordinator and later on as editor of the documentary CAUSE OF DEATH: UNKNOWN by Anniken Hoel: a global investigation on the psychiatric pharmaceutical industry. The film premiered at CPH:DOX in 2017. I then collaborated with Mattima Film as editor of DIAGNONSENSE, by Ane-Martha Tamnes Hansgard: a self-reflexive documentary with a critical look at the diagnostic system in psychiatry. The film is currently in post-production. In parallel, I joined the interdisciplinary theatre production Costa Compagnie with editing, live projection, writing and performance. As part of that collaboration, I edited Independence (2023) by director Felix Meyer-Christian which won the award for Best Documentary at the Film Festival Max Ophüls Preis.

As a freelancer in media, Nikolas is focused on social and religious topics. In his reports and documentaries, he tells visually and dramaturgically impressive stories that will have a lasting effect on the audience. He worked as a trainee at North German Broadcasting (NDR / ARD) in Hamburg. He worked for three years for investigative magazines such as award-winning Panorama (ARD). Since then, he worked as a director and video journalist for ARD and realized contract works for freeeye.tv (e.g. DIE ZEIT & n-tv). He became a documentary cameraman and video journalist in NDR´s documentary and reporting unit in 2012. At present, he works as a freelance filmmaker for DIE BOX, which is the developing unit at NDR for documentary storytelling and that publishes the documentary series ´7 days´ and documentary talk ´The Story of One Evening´, which he is nominated for Grimme Award 2015. Snow Hnin Ei Hlaing has worked as a freelance filmmaker in Myanmar since 2006, acting as director, producer, editor, and sound recordist after attending film schools in both Myanmar and Germany. Her documentary short Burmese Butterfly played festivals in more than 20 countries, including Sheffield Film Fest , and her experimental film, PERIOD@PERIOD won for Best Short at the Wathann Film Festival. Midwives is her feature documentary debut. The film premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival and won the Excellence In Verité Filmmaking World Cinema Documentary Special Jury Award. Midwives won the best film award at One World Human Rights Film Festival in Prague and Asian Competition Grand Prize and Next Award at DMZ International Film Festival. Midwives has been screened at more than 40 international festivals (including CPH:Dox, Hot Docs, San Francisco Film Festival, DOK.fest Munich, Sheffield and in the "Best of fests" section at IDFA). MIDWIVES has been sold to 16 countries so far and has won several awards, including at Sundance. The film was released in Germany and the UK and is currently on the longlist for the German Documentary Film Award. It was preselected for the German Film Award and was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award in the USA. She is base in Germany since 2022 and frequently travel to Thailand for her new film projects.

I graduated with a journalism degree from the University of Havana. I am open-minded, curious and intensely passionate about the process of journalism, broadcasting and investigating newsworthy events by interview, investigation or observation. Ana Catalá is a multifaceted Spanish filmmaker, producer, and photographer. After finishing her Film and Photography studies she moved to Berlin where she works as a freelancer in international film productions and photography documentary projects. Her film credits include The Ghost Writer by Roman Polanski, and Hanna by Joe Wright. She followed these projects with work in art house film and documentary productions, such as Sunshine Superman. In October 2014, she curated the photographic project The European Dream - Selfies from Oranienplatz, which was featured in the annual European Month of Photography in Berlin. In between her freelance work she is currently studying a Master In Visual Anthropology at the Freie Universität and a Photography Class at the Ostkreuzschule School for Documentary Photography.

Julie is a filmmaker from Luxembourg living and working in Berlin. She graduated in contemporary history and film studies in Brussels in 2007 and has been collecting images at home and around the world since. Julie’s documentaries explore geopolitical themes and social issues. She followed the fascinating world of Luxembourgish and Western European agriculture, which culminated in the documentary 'The Farmer's Blues' (2011). In ‘The dark side of the World cup in Brazil’ (2014), Julie explores the social and financial side-effects of the world cup in Brazil. Julie likes to explore different forms of expression and visual languages for the subject matter she explores. Her interactive multimedia installation ‘Euphobia’ puts the spectator into the position of an immigrant trying to enter a new country. In 2014, she co-created the multimedia production company 'Loufok Productions'.

Annelie Boros, born in Munich in 1991, studied documentary film and television journalism at the HFF Munich from 2012 to 2020. Her films MARS CLOSER and FUCK WHITE TEARS were screened at international festivals (including Visions du Réel, DOK Leipzig) and won numerous awards. In 2018, her film F32.2 was nominated for the Student Academy Award®. In 2020, her fiction graduation film FORCES premiered at the Nordische Filmtage and won the Audience Award at Sehsüchte Potsdam in 2021. Her documentary DIE GEWICHTHEBERIN screened at the Hofer Filmtage. Together with director Viktor Schimpf she produced and edited his short feature film MACHINES OF LOVING GRACE (Götz George Award at First Steps, Starter Film Award). Her debut documentary THE TENDER REVOLUTION was realized in collaboration with ZDF Kleines Fernsehspiel, DFFF and FFF Bayern and will be released in cinemas 2025.

I have worked for most of the big international broadcasters, including CNN, the Beeb, Al Jazeera, CBS News and 60 Minutes, the Chinese 24 hour news channel CCTV and National Geographic to name a few. I am now based in Berlin, Germany having moved here from South Africa.
