I'm a documentary cinematographer and filmmaker with a background in video-journalism based out of Montréal, Canada and Tegucigalpa, Honduras. I've freelanced for a variety of platforms including: Vice News, Politico, AJ+ and 60 Second Docs (Winner of the 2019 Webby Award for Best Documentary Video Channel). As a filmmaker, I'm an active member of the Makila Filmmaker Co-operative where I co-organize regular story development incubators and our annual pitch contest. Rich Williamson is an Oscar-shortlist filmmaker based in Toronto. He graduated from Ryerson University in 2008 focusing on cinematography and editing. He has since worked as a freelancer, shooting and cutting films, corporate videos, trailers and TV programs for well-known brands and companies, as well as fellow independent filmmakers. His award-winning short films including Frame 394 (2016), The Sugar Bowl (2011), Joe (2012) and Unsinkable (2012) have screened at festivals worldwide including the Hot Docs, IDFA, LA Shorts, Atlanta, New Orleans, St Louis, Hot Springs, Sidewalk, Big Sky, and Aljazeera Film Festivals. Rich participated in the Reykjavik International Film Festival’s 2013 Talent Lab and completed the Canadian Film Centre’s Cineplex Entertainment Film Program in 2015. His latest film, Frame 394, is part of the inaugural round of the CBC’s Digital Doc Shorts initiative. It had its world premiere at the 2016 Hot Docs Film Festival in Toronto, and went on to win Best Canadian Short at NorthwestFest, Best Documentary Short at the Academy Award-qualifying Rhode Island Int’l Film Festival, Best Documentary Short at the Sidewalk Film Festival, the Audience Award for Best Documentary Short at the New Orleans Film Festival, and Best Documentary at the Charleston Film Festival. It was named one of TIFF’s Top 10 Films of 2016, and is currently nominated for 2 Canadian Screen Awards.

Stefan Verna is a graduate from Concordia University's Film Production program. He has been active in the Montreal film community as a Director, Cameraman, Editor and & Video Instructor to marginalized youth. Drawn to cinema via political activism, Stefan Verna quickly realized that making films could be an agent of transformation around issues such as social justice, food security, culture and sports. His deep interest in Hip Hop culture and dance has fueled the type of projects he has pursued. As a director he has explored various filmmaking forms: documentary, fiction, music videos and dance films. Lucas is an American filmmaker, primarily working in documentary as a director, cinematographer and editor. In addition to documentary, he has also directed and shot dance films, music videos and fashion commercials. In 2012, the IFP at Lincoln Center listed Lucas as one of the top “Emerging Visions” in film, highlighting his ongoing filmmaking in Kazakhstan. He was also a 2012 Fellow at the New York Film Festival’s Artists Academy. Lucas’ notable collaborations are as cinematographer on feature documentary Last Man in Dhaka Central (2015), a portrait of Dutch philosopher Peter Custers, directed by Naeem Mohaiemen. Last Man in Dhaka Central premiered at the 2015 Venice Biennale and was featured at the MoMA Documentary Fortnight in 2016, DocLisboa, and International Film Festival Rotterdam. Lucas also shot the feature length documentary OXD: One Extraordinary Day (2015), a portrait of choreographer Elizabeth Streb’s epic dance pieces that premiered during the London Olympiad in 2012. OXD premiered at DOCNYC, and continues to play at documentary festivals throughout the United States. Lucas’ debut documentary short, Sacrifice: A Slaughterhouse Documentary (2010), has been viewed by tens of thousands of people online, and is one of the top user-rated videos on documentary.net. The film has been the object of praise and controversy -for its cinematography and atmospheric sound design, as well as its graphic subject matter.

Rignam Wangkhang is a Tibetan-Canadian multimedia journalist, photographer, writer, and radio producer. He currently assists in producing CBC’s flagship national current affairs radio show The Current, along with CBC’s first true crime podcast Someone Knows Something. Rignam’s work focuses on politics, freedom of expression, migration and refugee issues. His writing has been published in OZY, TVO, IFEX, The Torontoist and other publications. His photography has been featured in The Star, ICT, Machik, Canada Tourism Board, India Today, and exhibited in municipal galleries. Rignam previously worked as a consultant for UNHCR India and as a communications officer with Canadian Journalists for Free Expression.
