I'm passionate about all media production and enjoy the complete process of creating unique and captivating content. Having studied and worked in the UK, I moved back to South Africa to work for the German Public Broadcaster ZDF at the 2010 Fifa World Cup. This was my foot into the local media industry and soon found myself working across a spectrum of programs. As a Production Manager, I oversaw more than 1000 hours of broadcasted TV across various SABC shows and multiple digital news platforms. My position in television advanced into creatively producing sponsored and editorial content for the 2017 SAFTA award-winning Expresso morning show on SABC3. This role developed into directing my own concepts and I was asked to move over as full-time insert director for Expresso specialising in community, conservation, correctional services. CSI, travel, and conscious content. My journey took me away from terrestrial TV and I joined the online positive news platform; Beautiful News @ Ginkgo Agency. Since 2020 I have been freelancing and enjoyed producing/directing a string of international concepts from Germany, the USA, Canada, the South African part of an ongoing global British series, and some local Tv and Online productions. I am a director and cinematographer from South Africa. Before her shift to film, she worked for ten years as an award-winning journalist, filing dispatches in both her home country and across Africa. In my nearly 15 years in journalism and documentary film, I’ve reported locally for The Star and AFP, covered Africa for Daily Maverick and Al Jazeera, and written long-form features for the Mail & Guardian and African Defence Review. I’ve worked behind the camera since 2015, shooting and editing video pieces for the French news agency AFP, BBC, Buzzfeed, Apple TV, Oxfam and the Swedish national broadcaster. In 2017 I also was part of the research team behind Influence, the first South African feature documentary to premiere at Sundance. I have on-the-ground storytelling experience in communities across southern Africa, as well as Somalia, Syria, the Central African Republic, and South Sudan. I am trained in emergency first aid and hostile environment awareness.

Chris is a filmmaker focused on documentaries, online-based short format storytelling, compelling music videos. His video art work has been exhibited at the Tate Modern and his music videos as Director and DOP has been on display at London’s Museum of Design and Dublin Museum of Modern Art Chris clients include Spotify (short doc exploring Amapiano's homage to Kwaito), Boiler Room UK (directing and editing a multipart cross-continental collaboration celebrating African and diaspora cultures in music, and dance and narrative), Red Bull Media (Directing, DOP and editing a feature documentary tracing the indigenous roots of Cape Towns Hip Hop movement), Euronews, OkayAfrica, Hypebeast, NTS and Vox amongst others. I am a video journalist, camera operator and editor based out Cape Town, South Africa. I have recently gone freelance after working as a video journalist with the BBC's flagship business programme on the continent, 'Africa Business Report'. During my time with this international broadcaster I was responsible for shooting and editing news pieces for the business programme. Gianluigi Guercia is a photographer and video maker based in South Africa. He has been working on the African Continent since 2003. His work has been published and exhibited widely. Born in Naples, he moved first to Rome and then from 2003 to Africa where for more than a decade he has practiced documentary photography, working mainly for News Agencies and International publications. From 2005 to 2020 he was a staff photographer and then Southern Africa manager for Agence France-Presse. He covered extensively the Arab Spring from 2011 to 2013. His photographs have been used in books and have been part of exhibition worldwide. He obtained a Three Years master degree in Photography at the ISFCI (Istituto Superiore di Fotografia e comunicazione integrate) in Rome. He has a bachelor’s degree in Political Sciences obtained at Federico II University in Naples. From 2019 onward he is focused on pursuing his personal narrative, mainly focused on the human condition. Between 2012 and 2013, he completed an essay on Cairo where together with Tripoli, lived for 2 years. In 2020, two of his projects have been shortlisted for the 9th contemporary African Photography Prize.
