I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 1976 with a BA degree in psychology. I began my filmmaking career in 1977 after completing the Professional Filmmaker’s Workshop at NYU in the summer of 1977. It was the summer of Son of Sam and the big New York Blackout. It all made for a very memorable summer in my life. I returned to North Carolina and begin pursuing my career. Over the past 32 years I have had the pleasure and opportunity to act as Director of Photography on four regional Emmy winning documentaries and several others that received prestigious awards. I have traveled to and worked in 35 different states and over twenty countries on five continents. On a trip to Kenya I had the opportunity to photograph wild animals roaming about the Masai Mara National Reserve, while there to document the installation of a swinging bridge over a river to help the Masai villagers travel safely during rainy seasons. In India we visited and documented the Banjara Tribe, a nomadic tribe known for their colorful celebrations. I have also traveled to Zambia, South Africa, Jordan, Turkey, Thailand, Indonesia, Nepal and Tibet where I have had the opportunity to photograph many indigenous peoples any many compelling stories of life in other cultures. In the last few years I have concentrated on long form documentaries that explore various people’s cultures and how those cultures are intertwined with society in general. Zac Gooch is a storyteller. He doesn't use a pen or paper. He uses raw moments and moving pictures to weave a tale that can only be told through the lens. At the age of 17, Zac started shooting at WVIR in Charlottesville, VA. During his time there, he learned the basics of photography. He covered hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods. He was there when the Queen of England came to visit Virginia. He also traveled to New Orleans to cover the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. In 2008, Zac decided to take a job at KTUU in Anchorage, AK. While working in Alaska Zac had the opportunity to travel and cover major news events like global warming near the Arctic Circle and Governor Sarah Palin's Vice Presidential bid. At the end of 2010 Zac moved with his wife to Bakersfield, CA and took a job as a staff photographer at KBAK. While working in California,Zac helped produce a half hour special called When Kern Burned. It won an Edward R Murrow, NPPA Best Documentary runner up, and two Emmy a

Grant Baldwin is a liability-insured freelance photojournalist based out of Charlotte, NC. He has an Associates Degree in General Education (Conc. in Photography) from Central Piedmont Community College and has been working professionally in the field since 2011. I have been a photographer since the mid 70’s although I took a break for a number of years as I worked in the entertainment industry working predominantly in lighting. I have been a lighting designer for over 40 years and migrated back into photography around 20 years ago. I have worked as a photojournalist for over 15 years predominately with the Fort Mill Times and the Rock Hill Herald. I shoot almost everything from wildlife, landscape, photojournalism, portrait and a lot of sports.
