She won the "Best Documentary Award" at the XIII Vebron Festival in France. At the end of 1998 America arrived in New York City, where she studied documentary film at the New School. Xinyan is an award-winning video journalist and filmmaker based in Washington DC. Born and raised in Wuhan, China, Xinyan started her journalism career in 2012 working as a producer for BBC News in Beijing covering the Asia Pacific region. In 2018, she launched the North America video team for Hong Kong’s flagship newspaper South China Morning Post in New York, and later joined the BBC's Washington DC bureau in 2020 as a senior video journalist. Xinyan's 23-min BBC documentary China’s Science Revolution won the 2015 BBC Storytelling Fund and was Highly Commended for Excellent Online Production at the 2016 AIB Awards. Stephen Michael Simon is a director, cinematographer and award-winning editor based in Brooklyn, New York. Amanda Florian is an American director, journalist, and entertainer based between the U.S. and Shanghai, China. She grew up in the entertainment industry, training in classical Italian at the age of eight--and in musical theater and pop shortly thereafter. As a young girl, she'd frequently travel to New York City to train in theater, dance, and voice. Florian, alongside her triplet sisters, has performed on NBC, at The Billy Graham Library, and at Seacrest Studios in Charlotte, North Carolina. For 10 years, she and her sisters volunteered to sing at the Festa Italiana, an annual festival in Charlotte that raises money for those with special needs. I’m a multimedia journalist born in Cuba, currently based in New York City. I moved to the U.S. in 2016 to pursue a Master's degree in Journalism at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, as part of the inaugural class of the Spanish-Language Concentration. I’ve previously worked as a reporter in Havana, Cuba, and covered several events that shape the new relations between Cuba and the United States. I reported on President Obama’s visit, the reopening of the American embassy in Havana and the Rolling Stones' concert, among other events. I discovered the story of a Lutheran priest who has adopted 27 minors in an attempt to save them from deportation. I am a filmmaker and photographer with ten years of experience in short film production, promotional video work, documentary production, event photography, interviewing, and script writing. I am the founder and President of EHFAR Films, which I established in March of 2013. My experience as a videographer and photographer has granted me the opportunity to travel and film internationally, specifically across Italy, Turkey, England, and Rwanda. My team (ft. Award-winning DP Marina King and Director Laura Martinelli) has partnered with The Hewlett Foundation, Big Picture Learning, Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), Southern New Hampshire University, The Met, The Adventures of Mr. Clown, Paul Mitchell of N. New England, YMCA, MassChallenge, WEI and has shot a combined 40 short films.
