Hi! I'm Dave and I love making documentary films and podcasts. Most recently, I was doing just that at CNN's Great Big Story. I've been a Storyhunter user on the company side for years, and now I'm so excited to be able to collaborate with folks on the freelance side and bring their visions to life. I'm able to handle all sides of producing short form news and documentary videos and podcasts: producing, directing, shooting, scripting and editing. My personal areas of interest are in social issues, the environment, music and the arts, and Asian American stories. Robert Gourley is an Emmy Award-winning filmmaker dedicated to crafting captivating narratives that foster empathy and forge connections. He specializes in vérite documentary filmmaking with a penchant for intimate storytelling with small crews. After working as a staff video journalist at the Los Angeles Times, Robert embarked on a freelance career in 2021, contributing to television and film projects spanning the globe. He has worked in eight countries: from navigating the confines of a nuclear reactor containment vessel at Fukushima Daiichi to interviewing cultural icons and editing issue-focused films for the ACLU. I am a freelance Producer for live action and print including events and immersive pop-ups . I have an insured incorporated Production Company if needed. I am based in NY but work in LA often and have done projects in 8 countries. Her most memorable story was her coverage of former President Barack Obama, when he came to visit North Carolina in 2009. Smitha also has extensive experience in media relations, and has been an integral part of the earned media team at two different agencies in New York. She has worked with clients in many fields, including tech, healthcare, consumer, travel, education, and finance. Smitha is from upstate New York, and a proud graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
