Oregon-based director Cambria Matlow’s work seeks meaning in charged moments of stillness and values the emotional experiences created from atmosphere and mood. Small interactions and environmental realities often reveal personal and political truths. Her latest film, WOODSRIDER, is an immersive documentary portrait of a female snowboarder on Mt Hood, set to premiere in 2017. BURNING IN THE SUN (2010), about a young man who starts a solar energy business in Mali, was her feature debut, and selected for IFP’s Documentary Lab and Independent Film Week, broadcast on Al Jazeera and PBS, and seen in festivals worldwide. Her work has been awarded grants and residencies from LEF Foundation, Brooklyn Arts Council, Experimental Television Center, the Puffin Foundation, and NW Documentary. Cambria holds a Certificate in Film Production from Burlington College in Vermont and a B.A. in Hispanic Studies from Columbia University. She anticipates earning her Masters in Essay Documentary from EICTV in Cuba in 2018.

For over a decade, I’ve been lucky enough to work across many areas of the media industry. It has groomed me to excel in all aspects of visual storytelling seeing deadline-driven projects from development through final delivery of assets including pitching, writing, budgeting, field producing, directing, shooting, editing, project management, and publishing with digital asset management systems. It all started at CBS in 2009 paving the way for how the venerable news network broadcasted to a new audience online. At that time, CBSNews.com was ahead of the curve as my team developed the most optimal ways to package television content online from shows such as 60 Minutes, Sunday Morning, and 48 Hours. I was also fortunate enough to work on a live digital show with Katie Couric and produce a streaming simulcast to The Early Show. The hands-on experience and skills I gained over the years at CBS allowed me to join CNN as that network began to reinvent its digital presence. The reach of CNN ramped everything up for me as the projects I worked on received higher budgets and were seen by many more people. This also is where I started to develop more of my project management skills working in sponsored content. The series under this department operate under deadlines set by clients requiring a higher level of production quality and strict delivery schedule both online and on television. Along the way I have been awarded with numerous accolades including an Emmy nomination, Eppy awards and special recognition from the Webbys. The best part of my job is hitting publish and broadcasting a piece I poured my heart and mind into. I never want to stop creating and sharing my passion with the world.

Katie Falkenberg is a Pulitzer Prize finalist photographer and an award winning documentary filmmaker. She began her career as a photojournalist in Washington, D.C., covering the White House and other international and national news. In 2010 she headed West to join the Los Angeles Times where she worked as a staff photographer and videographer until 2019. She now works as an independent director, cinematographer, editor, and still photographer. In addition to being Pulitzer Prize finalist in Feature Photography, she is a recipient of the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award for Domestic Photography. She has twice been named Multimedia Photographer of the Year by Pictures of the Year International (POYi), and the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA), and two of her short films have been named Official Honorees in the Webby Awards. When not working, she can be found surfing, fly-fishing, mountain biking, or painting.

Andrew Stanbridge has been traveling and photographing throughout Southeast Asia for the past 15 years. His first work documented the continuing modernization of Thailand, Laos and Cambodia, which continues to be a theme that he returns to frequently. While traveling through these countries (particularly Cambodia and Laos) his interest was piqued by the histories of conflict that his own home country of America had been involved in and the recovery from the aftermath of these conflicts. For the past 5 years he has concentrated on this theme by addressing the physical, emotional and cultural scars left from the various wars fought in these countries. During this time he has spent time clearing and photographing unexploded ordnance, gone on patrol with ragtag armies and spent countless hours hearing the stories of those whose lives have been affected by the vestiges of war.
