Bartram Nason is a cinematographer and photographer with a focus on documentary storytelling. He’s the founder of Civic Matters, a video production company based in Chicago, IL. With Civic Matters, he has filmed award winning videos for political campaigns, philanthropic foundations, healthcare systems and public and private universities. In addition to his work as a cinematographer, Bartram has frequently filled the role of "shreditor," working as a director, producer, shooter, and editor. He has worked with clients to develop concepts and scripts, and he has managed projects from pre-production through post-production. He has also worked as a video editor, and has experience with motion graphics and animation. Before founding Civic Matters, Bartram worked as a freelance photojournalist in Atlanta, GA, where his work regularly appeared in newspapers and magazines both nationally and internationally, including The Guardian, Spin, and XXL. He is a long-time member of the National Press Photographer Association, having participated in workshops across the country. He is also a FAA Part 107 certified drone pilot. In his work, he strives to capture natural moments of people wherever they are. Siyan Huang is a video journalist and documentarian. She received her Masters' degree in journalism at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. As part of the program, she worked as a journalist for Medill News Service, and have reported on health, gender, animals and social justice issues in the U.S. She also travelled to South Africa and Puerto Rico to report on local issues, such as the stories of Chinese immigrants in South Africa and lives of drug addicts in Puerto Rico. She created and produced a 16-minute documentary with her documentary partner Taylor Goebel as the final project for the documentary class. This documentary is among a few films that were pre-selected to screen at the American Documentary Film Festival in April, 2018. After graduation, she was granted a Fall Internship position at Kartemquin Films, the Chicago documentary powerhouse. During her time there she worked as the Production Assistant for the film Dilemma of Desire and Left Handed Pianist, which further solidified her field shooting expertise. In 2019, she joined the CNBC American Greed production team as a production assistant to work on American Greed season 13. She's currently a freelance videographer/video editor based in Chicago.

Meg Vogel is an independent photojournalist and filmmaker. Previously, Vogel spent eight years as a staff photographer for The Cincinnati Enquirer for eight years, where she honed her skills and developed a deep understanding of visual storytelling. Vogel was named one of the 30 Under 30 Top Women Photographers in 2018. Her work has been honored by esteemed organizations such as World Press Photo, the National Edward R. Murrow Awards, The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the National Press Photographers Association, and the Associated Press. Vogel was a producer, editor, photographer, and cinematographer for her newsroom’s “Seven Days of Heroin,” project, which included a 30-minute documentary film. The project received the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for local reporting. She has presented the project across the country to healthcare professionals, students and Google News employees. She graduated from Ohio University’s School of Visual Communication in 2013. During her college career, she gained valuable experience interning at The Cincinnati Enquirer, The Post-Crescent in Appleton, Wisconsin and National Public Radio in Washington D.C. After graduating, she photographed and led trips for high school students with Rustic Pathways in Thailand, India, Tanzania and Nepal. Vogel taught photography classes in the colorful markets of Jodhpur, bathed elephants at a sanctuary and built water tanks in the shadow of Kilimanjaro. Hunter N. Johnson is a documentary filmmaker, photographer and editor whose projects seek to advance human rights through visual storytelling. His work has been featured on CBS, The Atlantic, PBS, AFI Docs, and has garnered over 16 million online views. For four years Hunter worked with The Perennial Plate, a two-time James Beard Award-winning and Emmy-nominated traveling documentary team creating short documentaries on the human stories behind sustainable food production. Hunter has created videos for Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International and is currently producing a project for the UN Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms while countering terrorism. Bilgin graduated from Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Fine Arts in 1997 with a degree as a Movie Director. The following year he returned to his native Turkey where he embarked on a journalism career when he was hired as a news coordinator with a local Turkish newspaper, Korfezde Olay, in Balikesir. A year later, he began compulsory service in the Turkish Air Force as a reserve officer. Upon completion, he returned to journalism and joined the Ihlas News Agency (IHA) in 2000. There he served as a correspondent and was handed international assignments in 30 nations. He was also a war correspondent in Iraq in 2004 and in Palestine, covering the ongoing Israeli-Palestine conflict.   Bilgin joined The Anadolu Agency (AA) in 2007, one of the world’s largest and preeminent news organizations. Initially based in AA’s headquarters office in Ankara, Turkey, he traveled to more than 30 countries while accompanying dignitaries and senior Turkish officials during their overseas missions.   He transferred to AA’s New York City office in 2011, where he has covered U.S. national news, including the Boston Marathon bombings; Moore, Oklahoma tornado; West, Texas, fertilizer plant explosion and the protests in Ferguson, Missouri. Byron Goggin is a 13-time Emmy winning Director of Photography, Editor and Producer who creates programming for Discovery Channel, National Geographic, History, the BBC and many other well known networks. In 1990 Byron Goggin began his career a top ten market NBC affiliate in Detroit as a news editor where he remained for 2 years. In 1992 he was promoted to “Special Projects Videographer/ Editor” where he filmed and edited Emmy Award winning programs including Dateline NBC with Chris Hansen and Ann Thompson. In 1995 his job was expanded to include “Commercial Production Director of Photography”, and “Special Project Coordinator”. In 2000 Byron accepted the position of “Chief Photographer/Editor” at Fox Sports Net. His duties included shooting “live” sporting events pre and post game shows. Byron was also responsible for the overall quality of programming, development of strategies and technical plans for major sporting events including the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs, NCAA playoffs, NBA Finals, Superbowl, MLB World Series, Ryder Cup Golf, and NASCAR events. In 2003 Byron was nominated for FOX News Corps “Global Excellence Award”, an honor given to only a few in the FOX worldwide network. Between 2002 and 2004 Byron went on to win a total of SIX Emmys for his outstanding work in photography, field production, and directing. In 2005 Byron left his position at FOX, to launch BMG Creative. BMG achieved instant national recognition with the production of “Wild Weekend Adventures”, which aired on PBS. Razi Jafri is a Detroit-based multimedia journalist, documentary photographer and filmmaker whose work focuses on ethnicity, religion, culture, immigration, democracy, and the changing cultural landscape in America. His current projects include a documentary film called Hamtramck, USA which explores democracy in a small industrial town in the American midwest. Another film called Loyalty, which follows the story of three Muslim chaplains in the US military. He is also currently working on a long term documentary photography project called "Halal Metropolis" which explores Muslim visibility and identity in Southeast Michigan. The work is part of an interdisciplinary exhibition series by the same name that is currently being shown and scheduled to show at multiple sites and galleries across the Metro Detroit region. Razi attended the University of Michigan-Dearborn, and received a Bachelor's degree in engineering and worked as an engineer for many years but made a major career change to pursue documentary work and journalism. Razi's work has been featured in National Geographic, National Public Radio, the Detroit Free Press and Michigan Radio. He was previously a fellow in the Documenting Detroit Fellowship in documentary photography and photojournalism. Most recently he was named a member of the New York Foundation for the Arts Immigrants Artists Mentorship Program.

I'm Fran, 28, Philosophy Major and Film MFA, with an interest in story telling, be it still images or 24fps. I've been doing principal cinematography for several projects in the west area of Puerto Rico, Chicago, and New York. Received a couple of National Awards for Best Cinematography in a short film, and recently curated my first photographic series titled 'Darklight'. I’ve been a visual journalist for ten years, five of which were spent at a newspaper in the Midwest. Recently, World Press Photo and Pictures of the Year International honored my work. I was also named the 2014 Great Plains Photographer of the Year. I've done quite a bit of combined video and still work for newspapers and websites as well as multiple day projects for Gannett and the Lurie's Children's Hospital in Chicago. Most recently, I wrapped on a national video and still project for UPS.
