1 reviewI'm an award-winning visual storyteller. I have over a decade of experience documenting stories of vulnerable populations, especially women and refugees from the Middle East and Africa. I am passionate about making sure global game-changers get their stories told. I was a staff photographer with the Associated Press for several years, during which time I documented the 2011 revolutions in Egypt and Libya. I am based in Istanbul, Turkey and work for the NY Times, the Washington Post, Buzzfeed, PepsiCo, the World Bank, UNICEF, the International Rescue Committee, Search for Common Ground, among others. For six years I co-founded and ran an innovative storytelling agency, Vignette. The company created multimedia projects for NGOs and foundations such as UNICEF, Amnesty International, Sesame Street, the Gates Foundation, the World Bank and the International Rescue Committee. In 2016 I received a World Press Photo award for her work in Sierra Leone with the NY Times, and I have received grants from the European Journalism Centre and IWMF to create stories about women's access to abortion worldwide.
