Ralph B. Davis is an Appalachian journalist with 25 years' experience. He is currently news director for EKB-TV in Pikeville, Ky. He also has experience as a newspaper editor and independent web journalist, covering economic, social, artistic and quality of life issues affecting Appalachia. In 2013, he completed his first feature-length documentary, "Appalachia 2050." Davis accomplishments include numerous awards from the Kentucky Press Association for news, feature, editorial and column writing, as well as newspaper and website design. In 2013, Davis was one of 16 journalists selected for National Press Association fellowships to attend the Obesity Issues Program in Denver, Colo.

- I’m a filmmaker with five years of experience in small crew content production and 2 years of experience on feature film sets with an emphasis in camera and documentary work. 2016 I created two music videos for ‘The Voice’ contestant Jonathan Hutcherson and the year before I created several small documentaries for a Chicago based non-profit. In 2017 I was hired as a video producer for an online educational resource that required me to travel to Europe and South Eastern Asia to film interviews as the DP.
