After graduation I worked as a screenwriter, penning original screenplays and rewriting existing material for most of the Hollywood Studios. I authored the feature film No Escape, directed by Martin Campbell and starring Ray Liotta. In the year 2000, I founded Aurora Video, a full service video production and post production company. Neha Gautam is an educator, filmmaker, and community organizer. Neha was born in India and lived in both Ethiopia and Alaska before moving to New York City at the age of 12. She earned a dual BA in History and International Studies at the City College of New York (CUNY). She began pursuing photography and video in 2006 at the International Center of Photography (ICP). Neha has over 12 years of community organizing experience. She is a documentarian who is committed to bringing visibility to the South Asian diaspora as well as the social movements in and around Queens, New York. Yevgeniy K'banchik is Ukrainian/American award wining independent filmmaker, and a graduate of the Moscow Film School. After completing his formal training in Moscow Film School, K’Banchik worked at Telesto Film Company on Mosfilm studio in Moscow, Russia, as a film director, writer and special effects artist, where he directed two feature films and a few screenplays. Yevgeniy also worked as assistant director and editor on various film projects. Melissa is an award-winning documentary filmmaker originally from the Caribbean island of Antigua. Throughout her career in NYC, Melissa has worked with award-winning documentary filmmakers including Ralf Schmerberg at Radical Media, Academy Award nominated directors Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady at Loki Films, and Academy Award winning director Alex Gibney at Jigsaw Productions. She co-produced episodes of the Emmy-nominated television documentary series MAKERS for PBS and Nine for IX for ESPN. She has produced behind-the-scenes content for AMC’s Original Series Hell On Wheels and Low Winter Sun. In Antigua, she founded and ran her own production company, and later worked as a freelance production manager on advertising campaigns for H&M and Malibu Rum. Melissa was also supervising producer on “Me on My TV”, an 8-part documentary series broadcasting on the cable network FLOW in Spring/Summer 2017. Melissa directed and produced the feature-length documentary, Silent Music, a portrait of her deaf family which won Best Documentary awards at both the 2014 Maine Deaf Film Festival and the 2012 CaribbeanTales Film Festival, as well as the Audience Choice Award at the 2013 Toronto Deaf Film & Arts Festival. First exposed to photography in the early 1980’s, I have always enjoyed capturing images of places I have been and places I want to remember and tell others about. It seems that the camera was always with me no matter where I went. On trips around the state or around the country, photographs documented my travels and memories. The pinnacle of my personal photography was between 2001 and 2005 where I had the unique opportunity to work and live in Antarctica. The amazing scenery and experiences there could only be told to others through photography. With the availability of email and internet I was able to share my adventure through digital images. In 2012 I was awarded a First Place award in News Photography from the New Jersey Press Association and a Second Place award in News Photography from the Pennsylvania Press Association. Journalism is a second career for me. I got my start in public safety and did that for 20 years before jumping over to journalism. I specialize in covering breaking and spot news especially in situations where there is heavy law enforcement presence and or interaction with firefighters or paramedics, which nowadays is just about every large event and or disaster. Speaking the “language” of public safety, understand what is happening I can read the environment and anticipate the pending actions. Having this edge helps me better cover the news and ultimately stay safe. My work has been published in local news papers like the Express-Times and national publications including the New York Times and the USA Today. My passion for Visual Media has led to pursuits in film, television, painting, photography and puppetry. I am currently the writer and producer for an international sports recap show called "This Week in WWE". Currently, I work at an international sports entertainment company as an Associate Producer II. I have been awarded the prize Andalusian of the Future in the category of Culture. I was selected at Berlinale Talents in 2015. My work has been referenced at CineWomen Magazine like an up and coming women independent filmmaker. I’m finishing my next documentary Time Among Olive Trees and the experimental short film Mother and Daughter. This year, I received a College Television Emmy Award with my film project Something To Believe. I have more than six years of experience as a filmmaker. I have created documentaries, short films and commercials. My first short documentary Round Trip was funded by the Spanish Ministry of Culture, pre-selected for the Goya Awards and broadcast on Public Spanish Television. My second documentary film One day in Smara screened in more than 20 international festivals, won several awards including Special Mention in 2011 at the London International Documentary Festival. It was also broadcast on The Community Channel in the UK. My third documentary The Visit screened in more than 30 international festival, won several awards Including Best short film at the Houston International Film & Video Festival; Best international documentary at the International Film Festival for Human Rights in Bogota and broadcast in the public TV in Denmark’s DR2. Audrey Black is a NYC filmmaker with an eye for creating unique video content and Creative Director of Cinealpha Video. Audrey has had her work featured on leading television networks such as NBC, Televisa, Unicable and PBS. She has also worked with film industry veteran, producer and studio executive Sean Daniel.
