Mary Catherine began her production career by traveling to Hungary to document the plight of the Roma, and produced, filmed and edited "Through Roma Eyes," for Storyful. She went on to work on documentary programs for CNN, PBS, CBS, HBO, Lifetime, and IFC, and many others. She produced a live-animation economics series, "Punk Economics with David McWilliams," and an immersive travel series "Kenny Wild" for Sky 191. Mary Catherine and Cornelia released their first independent film "A Mighty Man: The Father Gerry Roche Story" about an Irish missionary who was murdered in Kenya, in 2012. Most recently, Mary Catherine was an Editor on "The C-Word," a film Directed by Meghan O'Hara (Fahrenheit 9/11) and Executive Produced by Morgan Freeman. I am American-Indonesian. I was raised in two fairly different cultures, spending equal amount of time in both Indonesia and United States. I have always been interested in anthropological studies, hence focusing my work to revolve around art, culture, religion and heritage. However, my background in non-profits also stemmed my interest in human rights and social issues as well as education-related stories within underserved communities. Most recently, I have begun to document gender rights in southeast Asia and gained interest in domestic violence that exist within our community. Many of these issues have been fueled by forced or arranged marriage obligated by religion and traditional practices of existing communities. Many are stripped off from their basic human rights due to cultural obligations. At the very core, it is nonetheless an abuse of power and authority against those who are powerless.

I'm a cinematographer, editor and motion graphics designer, born and raised in Brazil and based in New York. I've always had a strong connection with music, which led me to tour with bands, taking photos and making videos in the first place. As soon as my first videos were out there I discovered a passion and turned it into my job. I've worked in several production companies and ad agencies, creating TV series, commercials, films, music videos, and digital branded content. Some of the brands I had the opportunity to work with were Google, Food Network, LG, GM, Duracell, Michelob, Cycle, GE, Samsung among others. I am also directing a feature-length documentary named "Black Booth", a study of the shift from analog to digital projection in cinemas, from the point of view of the projectionists. This project won the AbelCine Documentary Grant and is supported by the Film Society of Lincoln Center, Film Forum, Museum of the Moving Image, among other prestigious institutions. I'm passionate about telling the stories of people and places that are out of the ordinary, as well as exploring old things.

Kalsang studied journalism at the Faculty of journalism and communications, MS university of Baroda, in 1999. He spent 2 years studying journalism and submitted a dissertation thesis on “Tibetan media with reference to major Tibetan websites”. After finishing his studies, he joined the Department of Information and International Relations of the Tibetan government in exile as the editor of the official website of the Tibetan government in exile in 2001. In 2006, Kalsang got 2-year scholarship under the US government’s Tibetan Scholarship Programme. He finished his MFA in Film and Video Production in 2008, and as part of his degree, he submitted a documentary film “Phantoms of Chittagong” about Establishment 22, or the Special Frontier Force, a paramilitary force comprising of Tibetan refugee recruits that India started in 1962. He now lives in Elmhurst, NY, doing freelance videography and independent filmmaking. He runs a production house called Blind Dog films which he describes proverbially in Tibetan saying "Small Stove with a High Flame" kind of work ethic.

The Panola Project was an official selection of over 35 festivals including Sundance, Hot Docs, and the DOC NYC Shortlist.
