I'm Daniel "Don Solaris" Melguizo. I'm 39, from Spain, and living in New York City since 2005. I'm mainly interested in telling stories about normal people who do extraordinary things. That is a broad concept but the essence is always the same: A community that is benefitted by the actions of one particular person, to show the rest of the world that there's something else besides the comfort bubble we like to reclude ourselves in. To denounce the wrong doing of some, portraying the good work of others. Issues like immigration, poverty, human rights, education and art interest me. I've worked in all kind of environments. Im always close to the action and I never hide behind my camera. Being bilingual English-Spanish plays a big role in this task which is my integration among those who make the story Im filming. I recently rode my motorcycle from NYC to Argentina, to find real stories. Ive already edited a series of profiles about unknown people that is worth seeing up close.

I am director/producer of documentary and animated film born in Sofia, Bulgaria. Graduate of Sofia University, Central European University, Budapest and New York Film Academy’s Documentary Filmmaking program. Based in Brooklyn, NY, I divide my time between freelance video production and working on my own film projects. Hi. I am an Emmy Award-winning writer/producer/director with over fifteen years' experience. I was a senior producer at ABC News, where I oversaw the network's slate of original digital video programming, where I was responsible for the content and creative direction of these series, as well as the development of new series. I also spent eleven years with Comedy Central, heading up the network's award-winning digital video initiatives and overseeing a team of writers, producers and editors. I've also produced mobile live-streaming video for the New York Post and Page Six. Additionally, and independently, I produced "Containment: Life After Three Mile Island," an hour-long documentary on the 1979 nuclear accident, and a mockumentary starring Ed Helms, "Zombie-American." I have worked in journalism for eight years, branching often into marketing and sponsored content. At my core I am a storyteller, specializing in cinematography. As a field producer I have risen to challenges in many austere environments, including Iraq, Korea, India, Mexico and Standing Rock. I have also done on-camera correspondent work for documentary projects in Haiti and across the United States. I believe documentary filming is simple, but not easy. I don't wait for inspiration; I keep a camera ready for when it comes. I toil at the technical, ace the audio and prioritize verité. I know how to find the perfect shot, but I'm Zen enough to settle for good if chasing it might disturb the honest vibe of a scene. If the video feels true, I know the work is worthy. When I'm not in the field, I'm happiest sharing what I've learned with others. I've taught college students as well as working professionals, typically offering hands-on field production and editing skills. As a Marine veteran, I also mentor service members through their transition to civilian life - especially those angling for careers in journalism. Thais Drassinower is a Peruvian filmmaker who graduated with High Honors from one of the most prestigious advertising programs at The University of Texas at Austin. She then moved to Chicago to work as a copywriter at the worldwide headquarters of Leo Burnett for Lápiz; their Hispanic creative shop. She wrote commercial scripts and traveled around the continent to shoot them: Mexico City, Buenos Aires, New York, San Francisco. While on set she fell in love with the world of directing and decided to make the jump. She is now finishing her last year of a MFA in Film Directing at Columbia University in the City of New York. Her previous work in advertising has been awarded at international creativity festivals such as El Ojo de Iberoamérica and the U.S.H Hispanic Idea Awards. Her first short film “Memories of The Sea" was an Official Selection at various international film festivals including Palm Springs Shortfest and Aspen Shortsfest, two of the top 5 film festivals for short films in the world. It was chosen "Best of the Fest" at the New York International Children Film Festival and was taken on a tour across America to be showcased in various cities. She is currently developing a documentary that has already shot in Paris, NY, Aspen and is currently getting ready to shoot in Poland.She is also in post production of her second short film "Baby" which received the prestigious Jame Bridges Production Award. Thais hopes to establish herself as a Latin American filmmaker based in the USA who tells stories that connect with all audiences.

Shelby is a freelance photographer, videographer, and photo editor based in San Francisco. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, NPR, Washington Post, Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, The San Francisco Chronicle, Kaiser Health News, Texas Tribune, Newsday, USA Today, among others. Prior to moving to California, she worked as a multimedia producer and editor at Newsday. She was awarded an Emmy for Sports Photographer for her documentary, "Empress.” She was also awarded a Peabody for the investigative series, “Long Island Divided.” As a News21 fellow, she investigated hate crimes in America as a lead photo editor, photographer, and videographer. The team produced a documentary called “Hate in America,” which won several awards, including the Edward R. Murrow Award and the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award. She was a multimedia producer and photo editor for The Texas Tribune from 2015-2018, and the photo editing fellow for the Science desk at NPR in Washington D.C. in 2017. Shelby received a Master's degree from University of Texas at Austin School of Journalism in 2018, and a bachelors of science in Nutritional Science from Texas A&M University.

Irene Yadao is a creative producer, video editor, and writer who has worked behind the scenes on documentaries and narrative films. Most recently, she was a co-producer on the Emmy-nominated documentary Picture a Scientist (Tribeca, 2020), directed by Sharon Shattuck and Ian Cheney, and produced by Manette Pottle. She is a co-founding producer at Paper Tongue Productions, a storytelling collective focused on producing stories about, for, and by female and non-binary BIPOC filmmakers; and she is also a collaborator on Rockland Cinémathèque, whose mission is to showcase and celebrate essential, underrepresented films & BIPOC filmmakers. The daughter of a Native Hawaiian father and a Filipino immigrant mother, Irene’s screenwriting imbues humanity and humor into character driven stories about family dynamics, dislocation, loss, and belonging. As an editor, understanding the heart of the participants is as important as locating the crux of a story. She enjoys finding solutions to editorial challenges and collaborating with directors and producers to tell meaningful and impactful stories.

Kalen Cheng is a filmmaker and DP based in New York City. Kalen creates content that makes you feel, capturing moments, framing visceral emotions. She creates documentaries and narratives centered around themes of dignity, faith, race, and the empowerment of children. Commercially, Kalen works on branded content and ads for medical companies, fintech, and fashion and lifestyle brands. Prior to filmmaking, Kalen was a creative director for major fashion brands, winning the Clio with the Ralph Lauren interactive team. After her mother was diagnosed with cancer, Kalen took a strong interest in the medical world. Currently, Kalen is working on her first feature-length documentary, Our Forever Home, which brings awareness to the long-term care of children without forever homes. With a Master degree in Social Anthropology earned at the London School of Economics and Political Science, Privitera has a strong cinematographic approach and uses her research skills to choose relevant and urgent stories to tell. For Privitera, the engine guiding her actions has always been the necessity to make a real change in society, and she makes documentary to support people’s struggles and social movements. Her first short documentary “An Imminent Threat”, which tells the story of a fisherman involved in the fight against oil industry in North Norway, was selected and screened at “Resilienze Festival” in Bologna (Italy), “Orvieto Cinema Festival” in Orvieto (Italy) and won the second prize at “Visioni Italiane Festival” in the environmental issues category in March 2019 (Italy). “It’s still me, mom”, a short documentary exploring the conflicts and struggles in an American family when dealing with gender transition, is an official selection of “Out & Loud - Pune International Queer Film Festival” and currently in competition in several other LGBTQ International Film Festivals. Her latest project, “Rebirth”, an intimate and personal account of the journey that her response to her dad’s cancer took her on both as a daughter and filmmaker, is currently on post-production and will be released in Spring 2020.

Justin Levy is a producer working primarily in documentary film. He produced the feature documentary WELL GROOMED, which premiered at SXSW in competition and was released by HBO in December 2019. He is the associate producer of 2018 Academy Award best short documentary nominee KNIFE SKILLS, directed by Academy Award-winner Thomas Lennon. He also collaborated with Lennon as associate producer and impact producer on SACRED, a feature documentary produced by WNET. SACRED was filmed in 40 countries and broadcast on PBS following international festival screenings on 6 continents (IDFA, Tokyo International) and limited theatrical release. He is the co-producer of SUPERGIRL, broadcast on PBS Independent Lens, following screenings at film festivals worldwide including the Hamptons International Film Fest, DOC NYC and Slamdance. He directed the short documentary PIZZA KING for Vice, which has reached over 3.5 million views online. He worked with director Marshall Curry as coordinator on 2014 Tribeca Grand Jury Prize winner POINT AND SHOOT. DIRECTOR, PRODUCER, CINEMATOGRAPHER Raúl is an emerging Mexican-Immigrant filmmaker, making East Harlem NYC his home. He is a CINE Golden Eagle Award Winner, a Princess Grace Award recipient and a 2017 Tribeca Film Institute All Access Program recipient. Raúl graduated with a Masters of Fine Arts in Social Documentary Film from the School of Visual Arts in New York City in 2012 where he received the Paula Rhodes Memorial Award for exceptional achievement in social documentary Film. Currently he is working on his first feature film “BORDER SOUTH/FRONTERA SUR,” a gripping story that documents the lives of Central and South American migrants as they cross through Mexico and has received support from the Jerome Foundation and the Undocumented Migration Project.

I am a creative in post-production who has been an Avid, Premiere, and FCP editor for more than a decade.
