I co-run Black Revolver Films, a 3-piece production company who are always on hand for any type of video production, from documentary pieces to commercials. As we started out over 12 years ago making behind the scenes shorts, we have grown from our early documentary days to creating high end commercials and promos for a whole host of repeat customers, including a 9 year relationship with Madame Tussauds, as well as recent collaborations with American Express, McDonalds and Panasonic. In 2020 we also acquired our very own photography studio, meaning we can shoot projects in house, creating even more of a 'one stop shop' environment, and providing our customer everything they need. As a team of 3 we are dedicated to creating the best out of every project, with each team member skilled in all aspects of film production from pre production through to the final edit, meaning wether the shoot calls for a singular camera person, or a full crew, we're more than well versed for the task.

An award-winning documentary production company based in London and Barcelona, Fat Rat Films is a team of multi-talented, multi-disciplinary individuals passionate about the power of storytelling. As a company we travel across the world producing both independent cinematic documentaries, and work for clients with whom we cultivate long lasting and impactful relationships. In all of our work we take a story-led, people-centred approach, seeking to contextualise often complex subjects, and to highlight less obvious narratives. We believe that the beauty of documentary is in its power to engender human empathy; to take audiences on emotional journeys through lives, perspectives and realities they might not have considered before. And we harness that power in every inch of our work. In our 10 years as Fat Rat Films we have produced over 200 films, and have been screened on BBC Newsnight, The Guardian, New York Times, Al Jazeera and internationally at festivals, as well as going viral. Alongside film we also work across a range of documentary storytelling formats including radio documentary, VR, animation and digital longform. We let the stories dictate the format, and are always looking for new ways to surprise, entertain and enlighten our audiences. We invite you to dive into our back catalogue and to explore our website. If you want the story of your organisation to be told in a beautiful and bold way, please get in touch.

Having started my career TV agency side, I now work independently with brands, agencies and media channels, alongside a trusted team of DOP’s, sound and lighting techs etc. and oversee much of the production process, including the final edit. I spent my formative years studying first Fine Arts in Italy and then obtaining a degree and masters in Neuroscience from the University of Manchester, England. I then came to filmmaking as a natural consequence of my interest in both art and the natural world. This unusual and diverse background means I feel comfortable with both the technical and aesthetic side of filming and photography, but also with the most rigorous and scientific attitude required in the research of wildlife documentaries. Having travelled extensively and witnessed first hand some of the destruction caused by human exploitation of the natural environment, I feel very strongly about environmental protection and use film as a medium to tell some of the most important and compelling stories about conservation. My most recent work (Trapped) is concerned with illegal bird trapping in Cyprus and has been selected and awarded at various festivals in Europe.

“A story will help us make sense of anything” - Philip Pullman* Be it religion, philosophy, technology, or brand values, stories enable us to understand concepts in a way that stays with us. The key is not just knowing your message, but really knowing your audience. I’m an experienced short form Producer/Director working in Copenhagen, London and around the world. I work on projects from creative to delivery, and have covered several roles in the process. Over the last few years I’ve worked for BBC, Great Big Story, CNN Commercial, LEGO, MarlowFilm, and The Film Agency to produce beautiful films that really engage the audience. Having worked, hands on, at all stages of the production process, I am well used to dealing with agencies and production companies, as well as working for them. Through this experience I am also used to managing clients, industry service providers, and specialist freelancers, both at domestically and internationally. In all the work I do I deliver what’s desired, but push the boundaries wherever possible to ensure the tone and message established in the creative, or client vision is amplified. At the heart of all my projects, however, is a story; one that communicates what is desired by engaging meaningfully with the target audience. * From New Scientist, Rowan Hooper, 16th May 2020
