Mikel Konate (Spain, 1982) is an award-winning independent video and photo-journalist currently based in Madrid and working worldwide. Konate has been involved in the media industry for 20 years and began working as a video-journalist in 2005 for local Spanish outlets covering political issues, social movements, and breaking news. In 2014 Konate began working internationally for news agencies, media, NGO’s and audiovisual production companies. He has been awarded the Rory Peck Trust Award for News in 2018 for his coverage in the Central Mediterranean and was nominated again in 2019 in the for his coverage in Northern Syria. Konate has worked worldwide with Reuters, The Associated Press, CNN, BBC, Euronews, ABC, The Independent, UNHCR or MSF (selected). Las posibilidades de expresión hace tiempo que están en nuestras manos. Considero que la memoria colectiva y el rescate de la identidad individual y grupal es algo tan valioso que el hecho de poder tener medios audiovisuales para darle salvamento a esas historias es de suma importancia y relevancia. A través de los medios fotográficos, sonoros y representaciones visuales en cualquiera de sus formas nos da la posibilidad de maximizar los recursos, la búsqueda de nuevas formas de producción y de narrar las historias. El haber podido participar de cerca en documentales, donde he podido informarme de los programas políticos que en ese momento tenía cada país, y entrevistar a la sociedad civil en la vivencia de ellos/as y su sentir del avance de sus países, ha sido una motivación más para seguir adelante ahondando en el conocimiento de la visión de América Latina y su sociedad. Finalmente, los espacios de trabajo que he tenido en América Latina, han logrado que pueda ampliar mi mirada a la diversidad política, cultural y étnica, logrando que a mis regresos a España, me interesase en seguir leyendo e investigando las circunstancias sociales.

I am a multimedia journalist located in Madrid, Spain and Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan. As a reporter I am comfortable producing, shooting and editing my own stories. I love storytelling. I was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Canary Islands) on 1981. I studied Pedagogy and Journalism and I focused on enriching my passion for non-fictional audiovisual narrative. I have also lived in Torino and London. I started working as a journalist on 2005 for a news program of the Canarian Television and, since then, I have collaborated with several national and international media. I was the responsible for the multimedia area of Terra News site, as an editor and producer of online contents (2010-2013). Currently I am working as Communications Officer in Rise Foundation, a non-profit organisation working to alleviate hardship and empower Syrian refugees in Iraqi Kurdistan. IRLANDA TAMBASCIO WAINE (Eire) is a director, writer, film editor and comic book author born in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1977, and now a Spanish national, based in Madrid. After graduating in Image and Sound from the Universidad Complutense, she began work as a film editor and has since edited over 200 audiovisual works, from series, mass audience reality shows, music video, short films with successful runs at festivals, as well as documentaries like "Pirates and Dragonflies"(Honorable Mention at La Seminci, Valladolid); "La cabeza de Joseph" -directed by Alicia Luna-; or "I decide. The Train of Freedom", together with Teresa Font -selected at the 62nd San Sebastian International Film Festival. As a director, she debuted in 2007 with her short film "Essence", and in 2009 she directed a "Making of "about the baroque opera "La Parténope" for the Ministry of Culture. In 2011 she shot her second short film "El Regalo", produced, written and directed by Irlanda and praised by Javier Fesser. She has won the 10th Award for Proyecto Corto Canal Plus + Festival International Film Festival Cinema Jove for "Atocha 70". This film received more than a dozen awards at Spanish and international festivals, including the first prize of the audience at Corto España 2013. In 2019, she directed the short film "Equals", nominated for the About Film Award at the Notodofilmfest and finalist in the I Festival MICRO. That same year, her fiction project "Rara(s) Avis", was selected for the Coofilm Residence. In 2020, she released the video clip "Mike Hunt" for the band Patio Rosemary, reviewed by LOS40. As a comic book author, she debuted with "Aves Metropolitanas", a bestiary set on the Madrid Metro (Pub. Alianza); then came "Adelaide & Coco" (Pub. Grijalbo), a graphic novel about the daily life of a young urbanite and her cat, which has been widely acclaimed by the media and was recommended by critics (PlayGround, The Huffington Post and Forges, among others). Her third book is a group effort co-written and co-illustrated with Syrian women refugees in Lebanon, called "The Women of Aaramoun"(NGO Urdaspain). Its prologue was written by the project's godmother, Rosa Montero, who called this book "a miracle". Her fourth book: "Damned Cats (a catalogue of feline souls)", has been published by Alianza Editorial this year and her last work are the illustration of "Insolation" a novel written by Emilia Pardo Bazán (Ed. Alianza). She is also makes photos in CIMA team in CORTO, a monthly film festival that screens audiovisual works made by women and is currently hosted by the Cineteca at the Matadero in Madrid.

Adrian Alvarez (b. 1992 in Madrid) is an award-winning documentary photographer, camera operator and cinematographer, currently based in Spain. He graduated in Journalism at Complutense University of Madrid in 2015; and obtained the MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at the University of the Arts London in 2017. In 2022 he was recognized with the Dawn Journalism Award (Premio Amanecer de Periodismo 2022) for his long-term photo essay about rural depopulation and resilience in Spain. Alvarez’s work has been published in international media outlets such as The Washington Post, GEO Magazine, El País, ElDiario.es, and Público among others; as well as exhibited in England, France and Spain. He has also worked on commercial assignments for clients such as LG Electronics, Iberia and Warner Music Spain. David García Ferreiro, 1991. Working as "Imago Bubo; Rural Collective" since 2012. Since the moment I started this adventure, called Imago Bubo, I have decided to follow three diferents ways that define myself: 1) Photography. Photo as a medium of static communication about the diferent elements that we found on our territory (buildings, places, people, relations, spaces, happenings...), and also photo for all kind of events related with social activities or documentary photography (for instance; street photography). 2) Video. Video as a reflex of the intangible cultural heritage. A tool with a high power to recopilation about all the heritage that rural places give to us (for instance; old traditional songs, stories about places, legends, etc.) trying to save all that is going to get lost. And also use video to document all kind of events related to the countryside, rural life, social activities, documentary, etc.

Santi Donaire was born in Jaén (Spain) in 1988. He has a degree in journalism and audiovisual communication from the University Rey Juan Carlos of Madrid. Furthermore, he improved his photography knowledge in the “Blankpaper” school of Madrid. He has worked as a freelance photographer for several media in different countries, like in Venezuela, the countries of the former Yugoslavia, Palestine, Melilla or Greece. He lived in Caracas, Venezuela, during 3 years as a freelance photographer.
