Biography Arthur Pahl was born in Gladbeck, Germany and grew up in Würzburg, Germany. After an apprenticeship in food and beverage, he completed his training for Hotel and Restaurant management in the Swiss Noble Restaurant trade, worked as a steward on an ocean liner, lived in Canada, Colombia, the USA and Brazil, was alternately a rice farmer, emerald dealer, taxi-driver, gravestone seller and stockbroker before he succeeded to steer back to his homeland of Germany, where he has since been working as a tour manager for international pilgrimage groups. On his journeys with pilgrims from all over the world, people told him of their lives, their fortunes and misfortunes, their worries and their destinies. Some were so unusual, they had to be told. That’s how his first book Heavenly Paths came about. It was published under the German title: Verschlungene Wege in Germany, 2009. Six months later Himmlische Pfade was published. In April 2012 Gefühle brauchen Gefühle, Pahl’s 3rd book was released and immediately translated into Portuguese, under the title:Sentimentos precisam de Sentimentos. In this book the Author tells about an incredible love story. The story of his own kidnapping in Colombia, South America and the separation from his fiancée for more then 30 years. In 1980 Arthur Pahl was kidnapped in Colombia. Partly he was to blame himself, because he got mixed up with the wrong people. The tragedy of this: with the kidnapping he and his fiancée had been separated. They never saw each other again until 30 years later. From this incident Pahl suffered his entire life. Details of the kidnapping he never revealed to anyone. Only writing has helped him, to cope with his trauma. Now, for the first time he can speak about it, because in October 2010, Arthur Pahl received a message on Facebook from his fiancée and the story of a lifelong love comes after 32 year of uncertainty to an end.
Arthur Pahl has published 32 true stories in 3 books. His first book in English, Winding Paths of Life, was published in 2013. It entails 7 of his best stories translated from German to English. At the moment the author has dedicated himself to writing his first Novel. He lives between Frankfurt, Germany and Armenia, Colombia. S.A.

My interest in photography began with a taste for visual documentation of urban sports in the early 2000s, expanding the most essential relationship between narrative and documentary language. In 2015 I joined the Colombian news agency Colprensa, where I worked for two years covering national news, being able to portray an important chapter of the current national history, the Peace Agreement between the National Government and the FARC Guerrilla in 2016. Parallel to this I made collaborations for Agencia EFE (Spanish government news agency) from 2017 to 2021. From 2020 until today I have done longer documentary work with a social focus that seeks to offer alternative narratives to the institutionalized ones. Part of this is the work with Agenda Propia (Latin American media of social ethnic issues in the region) Geo Lino (German children's magazine), Stranger's Guide (American magazine), Specialty Coffee Association (British magazine) and UNDP (United Nations Development Programme). I took technical studies in photography in 2011, a series of advanced courses in photography during the following years, in 2018 I did part of the summer semester at the University of Hannover, Germany, for the International Documentary Photography Class, an advanced program that promotes new talents from all over the world and exchanges ideas with European photographers and in 2019 I did part of the IWMF Adelante program in investigative journalism in risk contexts.

Born in Medellín, raised in Bogotá DC. Fascinated by story telling and worried by the world we live in. Growing up in a country like Colombia, submerged in such terrible conditions of injustice, hunger, illness and beauty makes it impossible to look the other way. I studied History, obsessed with memory recording and primary sources. The camera is my tool to keep track of those things that cant fit in my head any more, stories so robust that demand a couple extra TeraBytes. I expect to give voice to lost causes and ignored heroes. I do this for pleasure but sure hope to gain something more; Conscious perhaps, impact or at least leverage. In a world full of images you can´t help to think twice every time you want to press the “rec” button. Nonetheless, I have witnessed the power of light coming out of a camera, and I am confident this path is the optimal way to give light to certain matters. My name is Theo Hessing, I'm a British videographer based in Medellín, Colombia. Since 2015 I've worked as a freelance cameraman, multimedia journalist and field producer producing documentaries and video content around Latin America for online news media, television and NGOs, focusing on human rights/women's/lgbt+ rights, human trafficking and climate change. I have covered a variety of subjects including the Venezuelan migration crisis, the Colombian peace process, the massacre of environmental activists in Honduras, sex trafficking in Mexico and the 'double jeopardy' of forcible displacement by conflict and climate change. I'm a cameraman stringer with the Thomson Reuters Foundation (http://news.trust.org/) and I have worked with them across Latin America, my work with them has been nominated for several awards. My work has also been featured by the BBC, PBS, Time Magazine, Discovery, and NGOs such as Fairtrade, Cool Earth and the ODI among others. Richard McColl is a British-born, Colombia-based freelance broadcast and print correspondent, guide and hotelier. After studying modern languages at Exeter University, he pursued an MA in International Journalism in London and later became a Conflict Resolution Specialist at the Universidad Pontificia la Javeriana in Bogotá. He has been based in the Americas for 18 years and for the last twleve years has made Colombia his home, travelling between the capital and his guesthouse La Casa Amarilla in Mompóx. He currently freelances for more than a dozenpublications around the world, routinely files for the BBC World Service and TRT news and is currently studying for a PhD in Bogotá and hosts a weekly podcast called “Colombia Calling”.

I have worked as a freelancer in both countries and worked on cruise ships for a few years. Traveling all over the world and meeting people from a lot of different countries and cultures has triggered in me a passion for traveling, and a hunger for that broad, global knowledge and empathy that is so needed in todays society.
