MEXICAN BRITISH SOCIAL ANTHROPOLOGIST TURNED VIDEO JOURNALIST / CORRESPONDENT, BASED IN MEXICO. My bi cultural upbringing between Mexico City and London inspired my curiosity for social and cultural issues from a young age. I read Social Anthropology at the London School of Economics, specializing in Visual Anthropology. In 1997 I returned to Mexico where I was quickly hired by the BBC bureau to cover Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Initially I was a tv and radio producer and then I received training to work as the bureau's camerawoman and editor for the region. News was a great school but I wanted to work on longer formats to get a more in depth look at the important issues. I used my field experience to springboard into documentary and spent 10 years working as a local field producer for international broadcasters: BBC, Discovery Channel, History Channel and ABC Australia. Twenty years into my career I became a correspondent. I have been working on medium format pieces focusing on social and environmental issues relevant to the Americas region. These have been commissioned by the Americas Now segment of CGTN America. My passion for social, cultural, environmental issues; my innate gift for connecting with locals from every walk of life; my ability to gain access; my in depth knowledge gained from decades of covering the region, have all come together to give me the tools to be able to tell the important stories the region has for an international audience.

Born and raised in a small town in the Italian Alps, Alessandro studied at the University of Bologna’s Drama, Art and Music Studies (DAMS) program—the first Italian degree to focus entirely on visual arts and performance. In Bologna, he directed his first short film Dog from Hell, which was produced by Universal Studios and broadcast nationally. A year later, he attended U.C. Santa Barbara as an exchange student, where he wrote his final thesis on the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. In 2004, he moved to Dublin, Ireland and became a Final Cut Pro certified trainer. There he managed an Apple Training Center, while teaching film editing at other institutions, such as NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and Filmbase. He also co-founded the production company Cacti Films, serving as creative director. It was during this time that Alessandro developed a relationship with documentary filmmaking as a means of questioning, challenging and bringing awareness to subjects of social relevance. In 2008, he directed Children of Manila and The Cemetery People, short documentaries that depict the hardships of life on the streets, and how shelter and education can help. Both films won numerous national and international film festival awards, and were featured at various events around the globe. Since 2011, he has resided in Mexico City, where he works as a director and editor.

Edgar Nito is a graduate student with honors from the Cinematographic Training Center, where he has directed, written and produced several short films since 2007. In 2010 his short film "Y volveré ..." was premiered at the Sitges International Festival of Spain. He has received an honorable mention at the Lebu Film Festival in Chile, has been awarded the best short film award at the International Film Festival of Guanajuato, the Best Cinefantasy Soundtrack Award in Brazil and the Best Narrative Short Film Award At the Garden State Film Festival in the United States. I'm interested in telling the way things get done, either it's food, a tool or an event. I like to be in the position of the people who is making it happen. The FPPoV (First Person Point of View) it's pretty much my most predominant shot in all my productions, almost a signature shot. I was born in the city of Oaxaca de Juárez, south of México. I moved to México City, DF. At the age of 18. Studied in film school for 2 and a half years then I begun to shot my own documentaries, day to day life in México, a ride in the Metro, a Music festival in the heart of the city, jogging in the park, a party night drinking till' next morning, a walkthrough to the street art beacons in the city. Or a day in first grade class room in State of México. Right now working with "Coletivo Mariachi", which is a group of media professionals (Journalists, photographers, documentalists) A collective that is following the protests in Rio de Janeiro since the very beginning.

I specialize on Direction, photography, editing and script-writing. I studied on "CENTRO DE DISEÑO, CINE Y TELEVISIÓN" in Mexico City and have a degree on Cinema and Television. I have a vision of creating high quality content, in image, sound and concept on everything i do: cinema, advertisement, journalism, music videos, fashion films, etc. I'm tired of watching low quality content meant for making the consumer stupid, i truly believe that everything we do should be treated as a piece of art, not just a meaningless job for getting money, art can be sold too and im sure that the consumers would really appreciate having their entertainment to be more like a gourmet dish and less like a junk food content for their brains, to feel smart instead of stupid. I speak not only as a creator, but as a consumer as well. In the working area i've had both type of experiences, the meaningless (where you have no creative decision, just follow orders for making a junk product) and the meaningful (where everyone works as a team, respecting and understanding the visions of each other in order to create a high quality result, something with heart and soul) i guess it is obvious which one i prefer. Soy licenciado en Cine y televisión graduado de la universidad "Centro de diseño cine y televisión" en Ciudad de México. mi visión es crear contenidos de alta calidad en todos los aspectos: imagen, sonido y concepto en cualquier área: cine, publicidad, periodismo, videoclip, fashion film, etc. Estoy cansado de ser bombardeado de contenido de baja calidad destinado a hacer al consumidor estúpido, creo que todo lo que se haga debería ser hecho como una pieza de arte, no como un trabajo sin sentido para ganar dinero, el arte también puede dejar dinero y estoy seguro que los consumidores estarán agradecidos de tener un entretenimiento gourmet en lugar de chatarra para el cerebro, de sentirse inteligentes en lugar de estúpidos. Es mi punto de vista, no solo como creador, si no como consumidor también. En la parte laboral he tenido ambas experiencias: la que carece de sentido (en donde no hay decisión creativa ni visión y solo se trata de seguir ordenes para producir un producto chatarra genérico) y también los proyectos llenos de sentido (donde todos trabajamos como un equipo, entendiendo y respetando las visiones de cada quién para producir un producto de calidad, hecho con corazón y alma) supongo que es obvio cual prefiero.

I am a Venezuelan filmmaker and editor based in Mexico City since 2018. I have a degree in Social Communication - Audiovisual Arts from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello. My last short film “Don’t worry”, is nominated for best documentary short at the 65 Ariel awards, and had its world premiere at IDFA 2021, was an official selection at La Habana, Guadalajara and Malaga Film Festival; winning “best mexican documentary short film” at the 25th Guanajuato Film Festival. My fiction short film "Bolas Criollas", filmed in Venezuela in 2017, was selected in many international film festivals, including the 22nd Brussels Short Film Festival and the 22nd Cine Las Americas Film Festival. Recently the film was added to the catalog of Retina latina. Between 2018 and 2019 I made the documentary series "Never again in Venezuela", which premiered in its theatrical version at the One World Film Festival 2020, and was awarded with a Suncoast Emmy in the Documentary category - Topical. Soy etnólogo, dedicado a la antropología visual y al documental, con más de 20 documentales realizados. Al término termino del documental, ingreso a Telemundo donde soy contratado como productor asociado de la telenovela "Amar de Nuevo": para el 2011 realizo, y produzco programas deportivos de manera independiente en televisoras locales y actualmente soy productor de noticias en La Agencia Mexicana de Información y Contenidos ADN Informativo. Cuento con equipo propio para llevar a cabo cualquier producción y post producción.

Carlo Echegoyen Media journalist. (I am not a person, I am a bicycle.) Born in CDMX, he currently collaborates with Agence France-Presse and Ruptly news agencies as video STR in Mexico. His photographic and video work has been published in various national and international media such as Associated Press, Dagens Nyheter, NYT, Deutsche Welle, Revista Proceso, Animal Politico, among others. Focused on human rights and the environment, he has visited various states of the Mexican Republic with a main focus on migration, security and natural resources. In 2021 and 2022 his work as a camera and drone operator has been nominated and awarded at different festivals such as the INDEPENDENT PRODUCERS INDIE FILM FEST, MIC GÉNERO among others for his participation in various documentaries. The skills that best enhance his photographic gaze are the handling of Drones and camera stabilization systems in extreme conditions such as kayaks, canyons, follow-up flights to moving subjects, violent social protests or armed movements. He has collaborated with different production companies and film crews. Of self-management training, he has participated in several courses of audiovisual production and direct sound. Proud father of María and always with a camera on his shoulder, he travels daily through the surreal Mexico City aboard his bicycle to find the stories that tell the current situation of the country and Mexican society. .

Born in 1991, Mahé Elipe is a French photographer based in Mexico. She completed higher education studies in France with a Licence in applied arts, and at the EPTA school of Photography, where she perfected her visual arts skills. Member of the Hans Lucas studio since 2016, she is attracted by the fusion of social concerns, arts and communication, she uses photography as a way to try and determine where human beings find their place in the society. Her goals as a photojournalist is to ask a lot about the place of the human in society in particular the plaque of women, taking advantage of the medium that photography is. Mahé then builds her images by feeding on the culture of those she knows. She had the opportunity to complete her training, thanks to the Workshop Nikon-Bayeux security in conflict zone in 2018, as well as the Masterclass Nikon-NOOR Academy in Budapest the same year. Mahé collaborated with different media such as La Croix, 6 Mois, Aleteia, Médiapart, Vice... In 2018, her photographic work was made visible during various exhibitions, notably during the Annecy Lac Photo Festival in France and the Festival of Nights of Photography in Morocco, as well as in Mexico during the annual competition of the Photo Agency Cuartoscuro.
