In 2015 he was selected to participate in the 10th International Student Film Camp "Interaction 2015" in Pozega, Serbia, where he directed the short film "Grad" which was selected on the Green Film Festival on Seoul. His latest short film “El Sol Bajo Los Pies”, about agricultural laborers from La Montaña region in the State of Guerrero, is part of the collective feature film “La Danza de las Fieras”, which has recently been awarded at various festivals around the world. His last documentary film is suported by The Redford Center. His documentary debut as director, “La Misma Sangre”, currently in post-production, was selected and awarded in various international development labs and workshops like: the Meeting "Nuevas Miradas" of EICTV (Cuba), the Workshop of Film Projects of Central America and Caribbean of the Ibermedia Program, the FLICC Latin American Audiovisual Market, the Andean residence of Documentary Screenplay, the MiradasDoc Market and is currently the recipient of the FOPROCINE / IMCINE Fund for Quality Film Production. He currently directs two documentary feature films and is a producer of the films “No Time to forget and “Mined Land”. He is focused in films of peasant and native communities of Mexico and Latin America and social and politics problematics in the region.

Born and raised in a small town in the Italian Alps, Alessandro studied at the University of Bologna’s Drama, Art and Music Studies (DAMS) program—the first Italian degree to focus entirely on visual arts and performance. In Bologna, he directed his first short film Dog from Hell, which was produced by Universal Studios and broadcast nationally. A year later, he attended U.C. Santa Barbara as an exchange student, where he wrote his final thesis on the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. In 2004, he moved to Dublin, Ireland and became a Final Cut Pro certified trainer. There he managed an Apple Training Center, while teaching film editing at other institutions, such as NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and Filmbase. He also co-founded the production company Cacti Films, serving as creative director. It was during this time that Alessandro developed a relationship with documentary filmmaking as a means of questioning, challenging and bringing awareness to subjects of social relevance. In 2008, he directed Children of Manila and The Cemetery People, short documentaries that depict the hardships of life on the streets, and how shelter and education can help. Both films won numerous national and international film festival awards, and were featured at various events around the globe. Since 2011, he has resided in Mexico City, where he works as a director and editor.

I'm interested in telling the way things get done, either it's food, a tool or an event. I like to be in the position of the people who is making it happen. The FPPoV (First Person Point of View) it's pretty much my most predominant shot in all my productions, almost a signature shot. I was born in the city of Oaxaca de Juárez, south of México. I moved to México City, DF. At the age of 18. Studied in film school for 2 and a half years then I begun to shot my own documentaries, day to day life in México, a ride in the Metro, a Music festival in the heart of the city, jogging in the park, a party night drinking till' next morning, a walkthrough to the street art beacons in the city. Or a day in first grade class room in State of México. Right now working with "Coletivo Mariachi", which is a group of media professionals (Journalists, photographers, documentalists) A collective that is following the protests in Rio de Janeiro since the very beginning.

Soy un realizador audiovisual y tengo 29 años de edad. Estudié Artes Audiovisuales y desde que salí de la escuela en 2006 hasta el 2009 me dediqué a levantar proyectos personales. Apartir del 2009 comencé a trabajar en la TV comercial como Editor Senior. Esto me separó de mi pasión por el documental, sin embargo en 2011 entré a trabajar a Milenio TV, un canal de noticias en México, lo que me acercó al mundo del noticiero y un poco al documental Actualmente radico en la Ciudad de México y estoy produciendo un documental sobre una Subasta de Plantas que yo mismo recrearé para acelerar los procesos del mercado y de la economía actual. Quiero revisar e indagar en temas como el valor de las cosas y la comercialización de seres vivos. Me interesa observar el afecto y el posible apego que el ser humano ejerce sobre su entorno inmediato y como esto es el motor de sus actos. Estoy interesado en revisar la delgada línea que separa a la narrativa del documental y los formatos de la ficción.

I was born in Mexico City in the year 1977 a March 15. I studied the career of Communication at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. I have worked as an independent documentary filmmaker and fiction. Also I have worked as a photographer also independently. In 2003 I was invited by the Festival Werken Kawin Copenhagen Denmark to present my documentary Gnu'u Nuni (The words of corn), which was broadcast on state television Danish. I am a Venezuelan filmmaker and editor based in Mexico City since 2018. I have a degree in Social Communication - Audiovisual Arts from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello. My last short film “Don’t worry”, is nominated for best documentary short at the 65 Ariel awards, and had its world premiere at IDFA 2021, was an official selection at La Habana, Guadalajara and Malaga Film Festival; winning “best mexican documentary short film” at the 25th Guanajuato Film Festival. My fiction short film "Bolas Criollas", filmed in Venezuela in 2017, was selected in many international film festivals, including the 22nd Brussels Short Film Festival and the 22nd Cine Las Americas Film Festival. Recently the film was added to the catalog of Retina latina. Soy etnólogo, dedicado a la antropología visual y al documental, con más de 20 documentales realizados. A lo largo de mi trayectoria de trabajo en el México indígena me he topado con personajes muy interesantes que bien podrían ser protagonistas de historias de vida maravillosas: culturales, rituales, festivas, de vida productiva, de organización comunitaria, etc. Es importante destacar que empece a trabajar con los pueblos indígenas y los medios desde la década de los noventas y he tenido la oportunidad de conocer a la mayoría de los pueblos indígenas de México. En este momento estoy trabajando un proyecto para la realización de una serie (13 programas) de cortos documentales sobre los pueblos indígenas mexicanos que se encuentran en riesgo de perder su idioma.
