Alejandro Reyes, better known as Alex Luke, is an independent filmmaker from Mexico City currently based in Oaxaca de Juárez, Oaxaca. Graduated with a degree in Advertising, he has developed his career in audiovisual production, making commercials for different brands, corporate videos and digital content, he has worked in films and TV series, he has extensive experience in the government sector and political campaigns, he has filmed more than 17 documentaries in Mexico, Europe and Latin America. Culture, art, nature, archaeology, history and ethnography. Topics ranging from sharks to rock bands. His previous documentaries “Dance of the Feather” and “Whaleshark: The Legacy” have been recognized with numerous awards at more than 15 different international film festivals. Awarded Cinematographer / Director / Producer in Documentaries and films in general. From Argentina but based in Mexico City since 23 years ago. Member of the Mexican Society of Cinematographers (AMC) The films in which I have collaborated, both in Cinematography and as Director, have been exhibited in renowned international film festivals, also in film theatres and cultural halls of America, Europe and Australia such as The Lincoln Center in New York, the Museum of Fine Arts of Houston, the Reina Sofía Museum of Madrid, the San Martín Cultural Center in Buenos Aires and The Museum of Modern Art in New York. I mainly do feature length documentary and fiction films. I have DP and directed TV and commercial content. The films in which I have worked on have been premiered at internationally renowned film festivals such as Toronto International Film Festival TIFF, Sundance Film Festival, International Film Festival of Marrakech, IDFA, International Festival of Cartagena de Indias FICCI, San Sebastián International Film Festival, SxSW, Down Town Los Angeles IFF, DOCSMX and Morelia International Film Festival FICM, among others. My work as cinematographer has been awarded for the films Palabras Mágicas/Magic Words (2012) by Mercedes Moncada (Mexican Society of Cinematographers Prize at DocsMX IFF), Guerrero (2017) by Ludovic Bonleux (Crystal Screen Award for Best Documentary Cinematography) and Bosque de Niebla/Cloud Forrest (2017) by Mónica Álvarez Franco (Best Cinematography Prize at Down Town Los Angeles International Film Festival). Nominated for the Silver Ariel Award of the Mexican Academy of Cinema Arts and Sciences for Best Documentary, in 2014, for El Alcalde, which I have co-directed with Emiliano Altuna; and Nominated for the Silver Ariel Award in 2019 for Best Cinematography for my work in La Camarista/The Cambermaid de Lila Avilés, 2018. I have accumulated experience filming in a wide variety of territories and circumstances in different areas of Argentina, the United States, Cuba, Nicaragua, Germany, Mexico, Guatemala. Every year, fortunately and since 2002, I am invited to share my film experience both in film schools and traditional universities and giving workshops, courses and inside alternative/non-traditional education programs. His documentary short film, “The Invisible Mountains” was nominated for the Ariel Award from the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Sciences and Arts, was the winner of the Best Documentary Short Film Award at the 11th Morelia International Film Festival, and was shown at the Semaine de la Critique at the Cannes Film Festival and at the Sarajevo Film Festival, he received the honorable mention of the José Rovirosa Award for best Mexican student documentary, honorable mention of the International Documentary Festival of Mexico City DOCSMX and the honorable mention on the Caracas International Film Festival, among other awards.. In 2015 he was selected to participate in the 10th International Student Film Camp "Interaction 2015" in Pozega, Serbia, where he directed the short film "Grad" which was selected on the Green Film Festival on Seoul. His latest short film “El Sol Bajo Los Pies”, about agricultural laborers from La Montaña region in the State of Guerrero, is part of the collective feature film “La Danza de las Fieras”, which has recently been awarded at various festivals around the world. His last documentary film is suported by The Redford Center. His documentary debut as director, “La Misma Sangre”, currently in post-production, was selected and awarded in various international development labs and workshops like: the Meeting "Nuevas Miradas" of EICTV (Cuba), the Workshop of Film Projects of Central America and Caribbean of the Ibermedia Program, the FLICC Latin American Audiovisual Market, the Andean residence of Documentary Screenplay, the MiradasDoc Market and is currently the recipient of the FOPROCINE / IMCINE Fund for Quality Film Production. He currently directs two documentary feature films and is a producer of the films “No Time to forget and “Mined Land”. He is focused in films of peasant and native communities of Mexico and Latin America and social and politics problematics in the region.

David Castañón Medina is a graduate of the National School of Cinematographic Arts (ENAC-UNAM) with a specialty in directing, as well as a degree in Design and Visual Communication with a focus on multimedia from the Faculty of Arts and Design (FAD-UNAM). His debut documentary No son Horas de Olvidar obtained the support of IMCINE through the Incentive Program for Film Creators for Project Development (2013) and the Fund for Quality Film Production (2017). The project was recognized with the EFD Award at the 12th Co-production Meeting of the Guadalajara International Film Festival, where the director was also part of the eighth edition of Talents Guadalajara. In 2020, No Son Horas de Olvidar premiered at the 18th edition of the Morelia International Film Festival. The following year, the film was recognized at the Viña del Mar International Film Festival with the FEISAL award; at the Black Canvas Contemporary Film Festival with the award for Best Film; at the Madrid Film Festival, Ojo cojo with the Premio Guiño for Best Documentary; and with the Zanate Grand Prize award at the Zanate Mexican Documentary Film Festival. Likewise, the film has been part of the official selection of FICTU (Tulum), DOQUMENTA (Querétaro) and Escales Documentaires (France). His short documentary Días Distintos won the award for Best Mexican Documentary Short Film at the 6th edition of the DOCSMX festival and received an honorable mention in the category of Best Student Documentary at the 15th edition of the José Rovirosa Award. Since 2015 he has been related to teaching Documentary Language, Cinematography and Filmmaking content. He works as a director, editor and director of photography in documentaries, fiction projects, advertising and video clips.

MEXICAN BRITISH SOCIAL ANTHROPOLOGIST TURNED VIDEO JOURNALIST / CORRESPONDENT, BASED IN MEXICO. My bi cultural upbringing between Mexico City and London inspired my curiosity for social and cultural issues from a young age. I read Social Anthropology at the London School of Economics, specializing in Visual Anthropology. In 1997 I returned to Mexico where I was quickly hired by the BBC bureau to cover Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Initially I was a tv and radio producer and then I received training to work as the bureau's camerawoman and editor for the region. News was a great school but I wanted to work on longer formats to get a more in depth look at the important issues. I used my field experience to springboard into documentary and spent 10 years working as a local field producer for international broadcasters: BBC, Discovery Channel, History Channel and ABC Australia. Twenty years into my career I became a correspondent. I have been working on medium format pieces focusing on social and environmental issues relevant to the Americas region. These have been commissioned by the Americas Now segment of CGTN America. My passion for social, cultural, environmental issues; my innate gift for connecting with locals from every walk of life; my ability to gain access; my in depth knowledge gained from decades of covering the region, have all come together to give me the tools to be able to tell the important stories the region has for an international audience.

Luis Arango 1983 La contemplación de lo visual llevo a Luis Arango a adoptar a la fotografía como su medio de lenguaje y profesión, misma que ha desarrollado por mas de 15 años, actualmente es fundador de PINHOLE® casa de contenidos audiovisuales radicada en la CDMX encargada de generar piezas publicitarias para distintas marcas, la versatilidad de su trabajo lo ha llevado a la realización de campañas publicitarias y diversos estilos, que van desde autos, documentales, producto, turismo, cobertura internacional en juegos centroamericanos y olímpicos y copas mundiales, ganador de bronce por parte del Comité Olímpico Internacional, por una campaña realizada para los juegos de invierno en Sochi 2014. Creador de “ 19/S el día que nos reencontramos”, proyecto que difundió a manera de homenaje, los sucesos derivados del sismo de la misma fecha en la CDMX, proyecto que se basa en tres ejes: 1.- Documental del mismo nombre, 2.- Exposición Fotográfica y 3.- Un Numero especial con la agencia fotográfica CUARTOSCURO. Hoy en día se encuentra desarrollando su segunda pieza documental la cual pretende cubrir un trayecto en 30 días que va desde Ushuaia hasta Alaska. Para Luis es importante compartir y crear un legado para los demás, trasmitir un poco de sus conocimientos es la forma de agradecer la vida.

I am a Mexico City based photographer/videographer with experience and special interest in news, documentaries, human interest stories and non fiction storytelling for traditional, Web or Social Media. I started my career as a stringer photographer with the AP in Venezuela back in 1999, was the official photographer of late president Hugo Chávez, and has experience covering local, national and international news events; most recently I worked for an editorial group in Caracas, Venezuela, shooting video stories for their three newspapers websites, before moving to Mexico. GABRIEL SERRA is an Award Director and Cinematographer. Originally from Nicaragua, Gabriel is now based in Mexico City but spreads his time working in the US, Mexico, and across Central America. He study journalism in Nicaragua and then cinematography in Mexico City in Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC) from 2008-2015. He has worked as Cinematographer both in the premium documentary space and narrative features. Some of his recent work in this role includes EL TEMA (a docuseries about the climate crisis in Mexico), NIÑA FURIA (an HBO fiction series about Nicaraguans exiles in Costa Rica), and the award-winning documentary feature, RUSH HOUR. His features film as a director was EL MITO BLANCO. LILIANA, and two short documentary films for Tate Modern Museum. Most recently, he wrote and directed the Amazon Prime docuseries, GOOD RIVALS, nominated for the Emmys sport category and was the Dop for Tratado de invisible premierd and awarded at Guadalajara film festival
