hello, I am a producer/director/filmmaker/visual storyteller. My heart work is in cultural documentaries, both long and short form. I learned my craft working in public television and then as an independent. I like finding stories that give voice to issues through intimate encounters with everyday people. I like to understand complex stories and focus them into accessible pieces. As people tell me their stories and share their intimate feelings, I understand that these stories can change the world. I think there is no more powerful form of connecting than visual storytellingconnecting truth, ideas and the essence of what it means to be a human being in a broken world. I am an intrepid maker. I have 28 years experience and have learned how to respectfully and kindly not take no for an answer. I am particularly attracted to social justice issues involving women, youth and cultural identity. I have a great interest in culture and the arts, the environment and relationships between disparate groups of people. The stories I seek are usually about resiliency and how people make chaos into order or not. I have a Canon c-100 camera and can go anywhere with it.

After graduating from Creighton University in Omaha, I moved back to my hometown of Kansas City to join Time Warner Cable SportsChannel, formerly known as Metro Sports. I started as the high school freelance sideline reporter before working full-time in Lincoln, Nebraska, where I spent three and a half years reporting on the Cornhuskers and Omaha Storm Chasers. Wherever the Huskers were, I was close behind. In June 2014, TWC transferred me back to KC where I spent the majority of my time covering the Kansas Jayhawks, Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals and local KC high school athletics. Whether it was reporting about the Kansas City Chiefs’ first playoff victory in two decades or bringing Royals fans inside the clubhouse for a rowdy World Series celebration 29 years in the making, I loved every minute of being a sports reporter. In January 2017, my husband and I moved to St. Paul, Minnesota and I opened my own company, Falco Creative Media, a video production company. My ultimate goal is to capture and create innovative, unique video marketing content that makes my clients happy. I have been a journalist for print and broadcast, a U.S. Senate press secretary, a college relations director, a journalism teacher and a freelance writer and consultant. I was an award-winning reporter at the Minneapolis Tribune from 1971-1981 covering everything from police to general assignment to legal affairs. I worked at WCCO-TV from 1981-1990 where I was assignment editor and then assistant news director and supervised the newsroom’s political coverage. I was the late Sen. Paul Wellstone’s first Washington, D.C., press secretary from 1991-1993. I was director of college relations at Macalester College from 1993-2008 where I worked on everything from promoting the visit of former U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan to campus to creation of a series of image advertisements in The New York Times to development of a lecture series in conjunction with Minnesota Public Radio to media relations work on behalf of faculty and staff. During that time, I also taught a journalism course every year. I am currently a communications and media consultant. A 1971 honors graduate of the University of Minnesota, I also spent a year at Stanford University on a journalism fellowship sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities.

I am a director and cinematographer specializing in non-fiction and commercial productions. The grandson of a Newsweek bureau chief, I started my career in 2012 directing web commercials and independent documentary shorts. I then began regular travel to the North Dakota oil fields to work on my debut feature doc, THE BAKKEN, as co-director, producer, and cinematographer. In 2013, my short RUNNING ON FUMES IN NORTH DAKOTA was published as the lead above-the-fold article on nytimes.com and named among the Top Ten Most Popular OpDocs of 2014. In 2016, I completed work on HARVEST as DP, editor, and associate producer, which later premiered online in The Atlantic, and wasalso one of 10 producers invited to the IFP Narrative Filmmaker Labs for my work on THE MISSING SUN. Rachel Lauren Mueller is a documentary director, journalist and cinematographer from the Colorado mountains whose stories focus on themes of power, identity and rural life. With her background in investigative journalism and anthropology, she creates films that interrogate power structures while embracing expansive imagination. Rachel’s work has been featured in Al Jazeera Arabic, The New York Times, PBS, Yale Climate Connections and Berkeleyside and her films have been supported by the International Documentary Association, Berkeley FILM Foundation, the Minnesota State Arts Board and the Metropolitan Regional Council for the Arts. Most recently, her film 8 DAYS AT WARE, supported by the IF/Then Shorts Distribution fellowship, was awarded the Reva and David Logan Prize for Investigative Reporting and Best Short Documentary at the Wyoming International Film Festival. She has been a film fellow at UnionDocs, GroundTruth Films and the Overseas Press Club and has a master’s in documentary from the UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism.

Lindsey Seavert is an Emmy, Edward R. Murrow, and Alfred I. duPont award-winning journalist and documentary filmmaker fueled by a calling to bring untold stories to light. ​The legacy of teaching in her family inspires Lindsey to use stories as a vehicle to empower, educate, create empathy and spark systemic change. Her parents were Minnesota public school teachers who gave her the gift of curiosity, so with a book and pencil often in hand, she began writing as a young child, and hasn't stopped since. ​She worked as a reporter at five news stations stretching from Northern Minnesota, Nevada, and Ohio before coming home to the Twin Cities and working as a reporter at WCCO-TV and KARE-11 TV. In 2020, Lindsey moved to a freelance journalist and filmmaking role after releasing her first award-winning documentary, Love Them First. ​The feature-length documentary, created at KARE 11, features a courageous Minneapolis principal fighting to get her students off the list of ‘failing’ schools while grappling with Minnesota’s vast achievement gap between Black and White students. ​The film, which received one of journalism’s highest honors with the 2020 Alfred I. duPont award, has been applied into collegiate educational curriculum, featured at national education conferences and utilized at countless education staff development workshops. The impact is only beginning, and Lindsey hopes to continue this advocacy, raising consciousness about the intersection of race and education, as she explores future film projects. Her work often focuses on women, families and children in underrepresented communities. Much of her inspiration comes from her late father, who spent his career advocating for teachers. ​Lindsey is dedicated to mentoring young journalists and volunteering in the Twin Cities community. ​Her hobbies include running, fitness and creative writing. The greatest chapters of her own story feature her family, her husband Ian, her son Stellan and daughter, Phoebe. They live in southwest Minneapolis.

Allison Herrera is a maker, a lover of Mexican breakfasts, a worrier and a mom. She is the former editor of the Twin Cities Daily Planet, an award winning online publication, producer for Ampers and reporter for KFAI radio in Minneapolis. She’s an independent radio and video producer for various public radio and television stations throughout Minnesota. She recently worked with KBFT radio on the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa reservation in northern Minnesota to produce a series of shows about art, culture, history and the environment. She’s currently wrapping up a reporting project about Native American communities in Oklahoma called Invisible Nations. She’s also completing a documentary about Ojibwe painter Jim Denomie. She lives in Minneapolis with her daughter Anna.
