Santiago Barreiro is a National Geographic Explorer, photographer, and storyteller. His approach mainly focuses on the study of dance, humanitarian topics, gender, and minorities. As a result of his interest in dance, Barreiro, who is originally from Uruguay, has photographed ballerinas at Uruguay’s national ballet company, Ballet Nacional Sodre, as well as Cuba’s National Ballet School, one of the premier ballet institutes in the world. He has dedicated his work to investigating, studying, and photographing the world of dance in both a documentary and a conceptual way, collaborating constantly with various entities of the world of dance and on a personal level developing photographic research projects. In 2015, he published his book Pueblo Ballet (Ballet Village) which, through photographs, tries to bring dance closer to those who don’t have access to it. I always liked telling stories. It is the most beautiful sensation in the world: tell and find stories. Unknown and hidden stories but with the potential to transform or change realities. Journalism gives me every day the opportunity to work telling those stories. Some of them good, some not so much, but all true and that are part of the world in which we live today. I am a young journalist, restless and eager to develop and learn many skills. I am passionate about digital and videojournalism. I studied at Colegio Seminario in Montevideo and later at Universidad Católica del Uruguay where I got one of the best averages in my journalism class. For more than two years I have been working in the newspaper El Observador, one of the most important media companies in Uruguay, which has strengthened and developed its digital area more than ever. I participated in the process of transferring the daily paper to the digital site contributing and executing ideas to make the news an experience that includes, for the readers, to see and to listen, not only reading. I worked covering many areas such as technology, science, politics, culture and trends. At the same time I developed as a multimedia journalist and told stories in both text and images and video. I know how to work in a team and under pressure thanks to the rhythms and the modalities of carrying out the tasks that we always had in El Observador. On the other hand, and thanks to my academic background, I am able to work in any format. Either press, radio, television, or - as I like the most - mixing the three formats into one: digital.

Gastón Martínez is a Uruguayan communicator and filmmaker. He works as a director at Ikusi, where he recently co-directed and edited "Raíces en la arena" (2023), a short film that won the "Women in productive activity" (Miem-Dinatel) call. He directed, filmed and edited the documentary series "Golazo" (2022). He worked as a director for a dozen local production companies and for AFP Services (2019-2020). As a television director, Martínez worked on "Premio Destacados" (2016-2019). He co-directed "Pilsen rock, the movie" (2018) a medium-documentary with more than 80,000 views on YouTube.

Tali Kimelman was a computer engineer with an MS in Biomedical Engineering before becoming a photographer. She has been working professionally and freelance for 12 years, with clients such as Unicef, HBO, The New York Times and many companies and ad agencies in Uruguay and abroad. Her main work area is advertising and she also frequently shoots portraits, architecture and food. Spanning a wide range of styles, her work shows careful attention to detail while maintaining a natural look. She recently started to shoot motion as well and has already worked for Uruguayan clients and clients abroad such as the Inter-American Development Bank.
