3 reviewsI am an Indian filmmaker and cinematographer. My work explores themes of memory, place and identity, with a focus on women and children. Most recently, I worked as a creative producer and editor on 'Tiffin', a short fiction film about the alienation felt by Muslim children in an increasingly right-wing India. I helmed the camera for ‘Hotel Naaz’, a short documentary about a third-generation Muslim Woman, who unwittingly rediscovers her relationship with her grandfather as she traces the history of their family hotel- Naaz Hotel and Purani Dilli. Other works include ‘Cities and Lovers’ and ‘Hum Jinns’, which have been video art projects on exploring the concept of space, love and personal identities in the changing landscape of urban life. I completed my Masters in Mass Communication, from AJK MCRC New Delhi, and have a Bachelors Honour degree in Political Science from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Delhi University. Currently, I am pursuing Electronic Cinematography at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune. Besides Film and Media, I have actively practise theatre and music. And, I enjoy photographing in quaint streets.
