Raouf Zaki's experience ranges from a DOP on countless docs and branded content as well as producing for the NOVA Evolution series about petrified whales in the Egyptian desert, to lensing “run and gun” shows for the Animal Planet and the Discovery Channel. Raouf served as a cameraman for several independent documentaries that were broadcast on Frontline and POV like “Funny Faces,” a documentary on Muslim comedians and “Aristide, the Endless Revolution.” He was segment producer and main cameraperson on a documentary for Lebanese TV “LBC” about Arab American after the events of 9/11.
Raouf was also selected by the US Health Initiative to produce and direct educational dramas on AIDS awareness. He won a Lamplighter Award for a documentary on the mentally challenged, produced for Vinfen Corporation. He won a second Lamplighter award for an instructional video for cancer survivors, produced for Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
In 2019, Raouf produced, shot, and edited a short documentary about a blind singer for the 2019 AT&T Shape Create-a-thon in Los Angeles, which won the grand prize from 580 entries and 1400 participating filmmakers!
Raouf has also worked on hundreds of corporate productions, television PSAs and web commercials, recruitment videos, and live webcasts. A partial list of clients includes Advocates, Inc., The Carroll Center for the Blind, Coptic Orphans, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Adobe, and Akamai Technologies.
