Born and raised in Lima, Rodrigo Valencia is a director of photography dedicated to documenting the universal human experience through the lens of each individual's personal journey. His interest in visual storytelling sparked at a young age thanks to his uncle, a DP who brought him along on shoots and taught him how to use his very first camera. Moving to the United States in search of better opportunities, he graduated from Rutgers University with a major in film production and a minor in art. He got his start as one of the first employees at CNN’s Great Big Story, where he cut his teeth on over 30 documentaries over the course of 3 years. Rodrigo has also had experience working on narrative films, commercials, music videos and fashion films for a variety of clients. I am a documentary filmmaker currently based in Brooklyn, New York. I have been a freelance filmmaker here for the last 9 years, though last year I lived in Uganda and have spent significant amount of time abroad in other places as well. My education and background is primarily in documentary filmmaking, but I worked in all phases of production on content for HBO, PBS, Comedy Central,&Sundance Channel. I’m a Brooklyn-based colorist and post production specialist with eight years of experience color grading on Baselight and DaVinci Resolve. After graduating from Northwestern with a degree in Radio/Television/Film and Art History, I began my career in video post-production at The Mill in New York. I spent two years working in the machine room handling tape and file-based deliveries and two years in the telecine department as a color assistant. I then worked at Nice Shoes for three and a half years where I was color grading full time before going freelance. Jacob Fisk is a shooter and producer with over a decade of experience in non-fiction video production. Though he is based in Washington, DC, his work has taken him all over the world, from Belize to Bahrain. He specializes in non-fiction and documentary productions, both long and short-form, and also works in branded content and corporate and marketing video. Jacob is fascinated by the ocean. He's spent months of his time onboard vessels, including an active USN aircraft carrier, a research vessel, crabbing boats in the Bering Sea, and shark tagging boats.
