I was the kid in high school figuring out old reel to reel machines and projectors in A/V club, and I've carried on that passion for technology and media to my professional career. Early on in my career, most of my experience came from my love for audio and music production. I tracked numerous local bands in the Cincinnati area including Walk the Moon, and Young Heirlooms, both in studio and on location. I've done sound for picture and live music video projects one of which won an Emmy award. I've worked as a field audio engineer for projects ranging from short corporate promotional videos to feature length films. Since those early days of running sound and tracking, I've pivoted to video production and find myself happiest with a camera in my hands on a shoot or traveling. I began polishing my craft at the Cincinnati Museum Center and National Underground Railroad Freedom center for 4 1/2 years as the head of video production and AV for both institutions. In 2016 I took a position in the corporate world as a Multi-media Producer at Paycor to revamp their video output from the ground up. Finally in 2018 I was able to make the move out on my own and launched Axe of All Trades, a full service video production outfit based in Cincinnati Ohio.

Slinging her camera to far-off and unromantic places like third world prisons, southeast Asian brothel districts, and refugee camps for African children orphaned by civil war, Deb is interested in capturing stories of human dignity and social change.​ Deb has produced for ABC World News with Diane Sawyer, Good Morning America, and Animal Planet. In addition to her role as producer, she is an accomplished director, videographer, editor, and photographer. Deb is the producer and co-director of the award-winning feature film Saving Carren, a documentary on meth addiction. Saving Carren was picked up by Discovery Education and is also available for viewing on Amazon Instant Video. Holding a Master's degree in Communications from Leicester University, Deb's main focus is in nonprofit and educational media. Deb has traveled extensively producing videos throughout the developing world, and traversing more than 50 countries.

I am a filmmaker and creative director. I've worked as a video producer for the Chicago Tribune and Kartemquin Films (Hoop Dreams, The Interrupters and Life Itself), as an assistant editor on the MSNBC original series Ricochet about Chicago gun violence, and have worked behind the camera as a run-and-gun-style documentary filmmaker for organizations like TIME, BBC, Education Week and more. I have a Master's in journalism with a specialty in film and broadcast from Northwestern University's Medill program, as well as a degree in Geography with special research in Geology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. I've used what I've learned in both disciplines to make documentary films focusing on social issues, dissent, travel and environment. I work as a Writer/Creative Director for a video production company that offers animation and live action (documentary and concept-driven work) and bring my experiences as an on-set and in-the-field filmmaker to inform important creative decisions that help bring a concept to life.

Silas Hite is an Emmy-winning composer with music in his DNA. Before becoming a freelance composer, he began his career co-scoring blockbuster and independent films such as Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist with his uncle, noted composer Mark Mothersbaugh (DEVO). His music can also be heard in television shows around the world, from kids shows like Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get A Clue!, Disney’s Dance-A-Lot Robot, and PIXAR’s Mater’s Tall Tales to adult shows such as Chef's Table (Netflix) and Abused by the Police (BBC). Judi Ketteler has been writing stories since she was old enough to hold a pencil. Now, she is a collaborator in storytelling. She makes her living strategizing with businesses to figure out how to best tell their story, from websites and videos to speeches and books. Much of her current work involves content strategy and content writing for hospitals and healthcare systems. She's helped more than a dozen hospitals launch new websites, with content strategies built around empathy, clarity, and web writing best practices. She believes that clear communication in healthcare should be a human right. Judi got her professional start working at an agency as a copywriter, but has been on her own as a full-time freelance writer since 2002. A magazine-industry veteran, Judi has written for dozens of consumer magazines, such as Better Homes & Gardens, Good Housekeeping, Runner’s World, Self, Women’s Health, and many others. An essay she wrote for Whole Living won ASJA's award for "Best Magazine Essay" in 2011. She frequently contributes essays to NBCNews.com and The New York Times. She’s also a regular columnist for Cincinnati Magazine, where she writes pieces about the weirdness of midlife. Mostly, she writes about honesty, and is the author of WOULD I LIE TO YOU? THE AMAZING POWER OF BEING HONEST IN A WORLD THAT LIES (Citadel Press, 2020). She is also the author of two non-fiction books about sewing: SEW RETRO (Voyageur Press, 2010) and THE SPOONFLOWER HANDBOOK (Abrams, 2015). When she’s not writing, Judi loves running, yoga, reading, sewing, doing back flips on the trampoline, and going to flea markets. She lives with her husband and two children in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Maddie McGarvey is a documentary photographer based in Columbus, Ohio. Her work often examines Appalachia, rural America, poverty, grief, resiliency, politics, and how policy directly affects those living in this country. She has spent over a decade documenting a grandmother raising her four grandchildren in Southeast Ohio, and takes special interest in long-form storytelling. Ben Harper is a DP and Editor based in Cleveland, Ohio. Ben is a graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Journalism.
